My old friend that I haven't talked to in a few years just had a stern talk with my parents while he was visiting our hometown. My parents have been absolutely stubborn about their denial of my gender since I came out. I live out of state, so I wasn't there. I was completely shocked when, during a Skype call with my brother, my parents were actually willing to talk to me with a video feed. On top of that, my dad actually called me Jessica, which I never thought would happen. It was a pleasant chat for once, even if it was a short one.

Hooray for true friends. The good ones are always there for you no matter what.  :)

I know I'm repeating myself, but everyone at work referred to me as she tonight. Oh my god that feels good. Plus they are surprised that I had a hard time before being accepted. It feels so freaking good.

I woke up this morning and realized that I am on my way.  No more secrets.  I am not presenting yet, but I have some appointments made for this week to get the show on the road.

My wife still loves me even after dropping the T-bomb on her.  She suggested a couple that we know that it would be safe to come out to.

I am sitting here enjoying an espresso buzz and looking out at a bright summer monring in the woods.  Damn, life is good!  When the going gets tough, I want to remember mornings like this.
2015-07-04 Awakening; 2015-11-15 Out to self; 2016-06-22 Out to wife; 2016-10-27 First time presenting in public; 2017-01-20 Started HRT!!; 2017-04-20 Out publicly; 2017-07-10 Legal name change; 2019-02-15 Approval for GRS; 2019-08-02 Official gender change; 2020-03-11 GRS; 2020-09-17 New birth certificate

The British government has announced that they're launching a full review into the needs of our transgender citizens, as well as the views of the general public towards us.

They're also removing any reference to trans being a 'mental illness' from all official areas, including the NHS. On the subject of the NHS, they're improving staff training so that GICs can be better supported & offer more appropriate services. And they're reviewing the need for the government to request information about citizens' gender, with a view towards removing this from areas where it is completely irrelevant.

And best of all... they're reviewing the outdated Gender Recognition Act of 2004, which currently makes us jump through hoops, spend hundreds of pounds and basically beg a bunch of faceless bureaucrats to allow us officially to change our gender. The hope is that they'll come up with a self-declaration system instead.

Hurrah!  :D

I was researching grades of tequila the other day to explain the difference between reposado and añejo to someone and stumbled across a common Mexican cocktail, la Paloma, grapefruit soda and tequila, often garnished with lime and perhaps some salt. Today I finally found Jarrito's grapefruit soda in the store and with one of my favorite reposado made my first one which I'm enjoying as I type. I have a new favorite drink!

My therapist.  Really.

I went through a bad patch last week, and right at my worst, she called to offer me a session that had just freed up.  Yes, please!   It helped.  It really helped.  I was able to vent all the nasty stuff rattling around in my head regarding family issues, clear up my thinking about what I should be doing and saying, and get some really good ideas on how to handle things going forward.  She even got me laughing at one point.

I left the session smiling, and feeling much better than when I went in.  Yay!

Shoes!  Yeah, I got it bad.

I've assembled some more professional outfits from yesterday's run to Goodwill, Costco, and Forever 21. Because of some great scores at goodwill I kept the cost under $70 US for what amounts to a dozen different outfits. (Careful mix and match). Alas my little black flats and sneakers don't cut it.

So, off to the mall to splurge 😀   Some nice ankle boots will be just the right thing. Score!  Cute matte black with a gold buckle detail. I haz a happy. Bonus: I'm pretty sure I'm actually passing.

Got a whole bunch of stuff I ordered from the consignment site Swap yesterday so instant boost to the wardrobe.  On top of that I got my new camera and equipment so have been playing around with that trying to get things right for when I start making my YouTube videos.   ;D

Cloth shopping with my wife today :-) couldn't find anything in the men's world and she suggested looking in the women's department. She is so understanding and supporting...

A random customer came up to me and said my hair was really beautiful. And a coworker noticed I have a bit of a natural cheek coloring and said it was really pretty like I was wearing makeup similar to a Cisgender Girl's pallet.

I was at the Walmart pharmacy in line for my prescriptions wearing jeans and a t-shirt without makeup, so generally in male mode.  The pharmacist looked over from the back and said, "I'll be right with you ma'am."   Yaaaaay. The same thing happened when I went to donate blood yesterday. :-)

While going into the bank this morning, the county judge (on his way out) opened both doors for me, and said "good morning, young lady".

I had to lower, repair, and raise a large shortwave radio antenna (an 80-10M fan dipole of my own design and construction).  Now, I've lost about 40 pounds since I put this thing in the sky, as well as certain... changes to my biochemistry and wardrobe.  :)  Still, I was able to get the job done.

As I was re-rigging the antenna, a hawk flew low and circled the mast I was working on.  I stopped and watched her for several minutes, until she flew off in search of easier prey.  Amazing!

Life is good!

I just ran across the man I learned shamanism from.

Me: You don't remember me do you?

Him: You look familiar.

Me: Dion

Him (with a nod and a smile): How have you been?

Me: There have been some changes.

Him (looking down at my boobs): So I see!

Humorous interchange with total acceptance, what's better than that?

I got my wife to sit down and have breakfast with me, AND agree to go on a drive to the coast and out to lunch. (I'm cross-dressing as male for all of this.  Compromises.)

Small steps.  Always small steps.  But it's something.
