Hi my name is Lilya I am transgender woman pre hormones and I am 19 years old, I have decided to transition 1 years ago and now I am finally transitioning so I need transgender friends because I feel so alone I have a lot of cis friend but none of them completely undestand me so I tried to contact some trans women and I told them that I am a transgender teenager and just want to talk about transition, I have nearly tried to contact 15-20 transgender woman they weren't famous so I'm sure they don't get messages all the time, I tried to talk to them on instagram, facebook etc. noone respond me and It feels bad because If I had complated my transition I would help transgender teenagers, I would listen them and give them advices,  I didn't asked for money or something just wanted to chat because I want to hear about their life on their perspective, and make new friends I live in Turkey / Antalya, Trans people in Turkey mostly live in Istanbul and Ankara I don't know what should I do to find them I can only find trans escorts and they are not really talktive.. Is there a secret word or something to tell before start chatting with a Transgender woman because I'm really confused? They must know how hard transitioning is I really don't understand them . Sorry for my English . Thanks.

Hi! Welcome to the site - I think you'll find that people will chat with you here. The thing is that, outside of certain situations, many trans people don't necessarily want to talk about being trans, even with other trans people... especially if they have moved on in their transition. You'll need a specific space (this forum, for example) where people feel safe about talking about their experiences without fear of judgement, etc. I'm pretty sure I would ignore emails out of nowhere from someone I didn't know too - but here it is a different matter.

Welcome to Susan's Place. I am providing a second copy of the rules for you because your last post was two years ago. When people transition they still associate with the people around them and few are willing to take on others who are transgender. Most of the time life is difficult enough that they are unable to support others in the transition. This site has a few who are post surgical and give advice but most of the site members are in some stage of transition. If you post carefully and make a topic interesting, you will have many people posting on it. If you have a problem that is difficult to solve, again many people may do their best to help you.

One of the reasons we have few people who are post surgical is because after surgery, most just want to put this part of their life behind them and go on to live a normal life. There is nothing wrong with that because the whole point of the transition is to make a new life where you are happy. In my case, I had surgery in 1982 and lived a number of years without transsexualism in my life. In that time, the internet came into existence and my life changed so I ended up with a good deal free time on my hands. I discovered Susan's and for me, it's a good place to spend all that free time helping others.

You can exchange information on this site and you might make a friend or two if you remain here and let others get to know you. I suggest you stay here and possibly post on a thread of interest to you or start a new one.
