I haven't had top surgery, but afterwards do your nipples still have feeling in them?

mine don't have feeling and my sensation never came back for some of my chest. i can feel pressure but i can't really feel like water hitting my chest or the change in temperature of water. i don't think too much about it because it isn't something i'm hyper aware of or really care about.

I don't have much feeling in them pre surgery. It just annoys me for them to be touched.

I got pretty much all of the sensation to my whole chest back over time as the nerves reconnected (I suppose?), nipples included. I think it's mainly because despite of having double incisions my nipples didn't have to be relocated (or resized for that matter).

It was kinda funny for a while when I still hadn't got sensation back to the nipples when it came to touch but they still reacted to cold etc...

The feeling you get depends alot on the type of surgery you have.  When the nipples are removed with the nerves and blood supply still attached you have a much better chance of keeping the feelings.

My doctor says I should gain feeling in my whole chest area over time (I'm only about 7 1/2 weeks post op) I don't really know or care if nipple feeling comes back because even in intimacy with my partner I don't like them being touched and never enjoyed the feeling. But I think it's different for every body and how each surgeon does their procedure

I'm a little over a year post op and i don't have any feeling in mine. Some areas of my chest are still kind of numb as well. Doesn't bother me though

Double incision here, about 15 months post-op. Since they grafted my nipples back on, I've had very little sensation return so far. I can feel pain if they're pinched or tugged. I poked one with a needle once and it hurt. They react to cold and to being handled roughly. But to simply caress them...I feel very little. I firmly believe that over time the nerves will reconnect and I'll have the same sensitivity and enjoyment I had pre-op. The human body is an absolute miracle.

I had double incision about 15 months ago. My nipples were removed, resized, and then reattached. I have no erotic feeling in them. They can feel hot/cold and I can feel pressure on them if you were to press on them, but other than that nothing. Light touching, I can't feel.

Maybe it works because you believe it will-mind and body connection type thing.

Top surgery severs the nerves completely in the area between the outer skin like the nipple, and the spinal cord. I would expect numbness and loss of feeling to a degree as a result immediately after surgery.

However nerves do repair or regrow over time. But it's a slower process than general healing of wounds. And not always the same nerves will regrow, and not always in the same number as before.

I wonder if more nerves can grow than before. Are you in the medical profession?
