Fellow Canadian, here. I feel your pain about the shipping/returns dilema.

I hope the swim binder works well for you. I haven't seen too many reviews on it, but the ones I saw, people seemed pretty happy with it.

Someone else on here, quite some time ago in another thread, had mentioned that wetsuits can do a good job at binding as well and suggested that there may be used options.

Just as a heads up to you just in case; when swimming and binding, make sure the binder can come off in a way other than pulling over. Trying to take a wet pull-over binder off is something to avoid *shudders* Or just wait until it's completely dry.

Oh, and not that you wouldn't anyway, but keep mindful of your body while binding and swimming. You'll find that swimming has a lot of ribcage movement. It shouldn't be an issue, just something to be aware of. If you need a break, you need a break. Don't be afraid to leave early if you need to. =)

By the way, kudos to you for taking the dive into learning to swim! (I had to ;)) Rowing also looks fantastic. I only got to use the rowing machine, but it became my favourite cardio machine the first time I used it (I did make sure to find out the basic form beforehand though). I'm sure that has nothing on the real thing. Looks like a lotta fun. I also like how it really works out everything while still being low to no impact. Tres cool.

Cheers! I'm excited for the swim binder to arrive and check it out. It zips, so that would save me an embarrassing situation being trapped half in, and half out lol. Good tip about the rib movement and will watch out for that. Excited to learn to swim and also happy to see some progress in my physio and gym. They put me on the elliptical for the first time yesterday since I got sick last year, awesome. Can't wait to graduate to the rowing machine eventually. Keeping my eye on the prize.

Turns out though I need to go into the pool tomorrow for a physio session. The swim lessons start after Labour Day, so the binder will be here in time for that. I ran around this weekend trying to figure out what to do. I picked up a pair of men's jammers and a short sleeved athletic shirt/compression top on clearance. My physio told me that people go into the pool with this sort of get up, so that'll make do for tomorrow (with sports bra underneath). So that's coverage from knee to bicep. Excited about that, though I know a bit of moob will be showing. At least it's all black so I'm hoping it's not as obvious. And hope the chlorine doesn't eat the shirt.

I've totally been eyeing the wetsuits too, but I'm guessing that's a bit much for the pool? Seeing as I haven't been in one in 20 years or so, I'm not sure what flies. I suppose it depends how cold that pool is. :)

Probably my ideal swim get up is a men's Victorian swim costume lol.

This man is living the dream of full coverage in his wetsuit. :)

They are a thing! I didn't realise until lately too. Hopefully you're in place where shipping is reasonable. Curious to see what you think too when it arrives. :)
