Welcome to my world :-(
I first noticed my balding in my early 20s. It was not unexpected as baldness is passed via a sex-linked gene via ones mother. So the way a man can predict baldness is his maternal grandfather.
Sure enough my father's family had no baldness but my mother's grandfather did and all the men in my maternal grandmother's family as well as all of her son's did also. Therefore I took it as inevitable.
The reason women don't usually go bald is that the gene is only expressed in the presence of testosterone. I'm afraid there's little you can do to avoid. For my part, the first time I realized hair loss had progressed so far was when I suffered a bad sunburn at the back/top of my head. I'd had no reason to look there and so simply hadn't realized it had progressed so far. I've worn hats in sunshine religiously ever since.
Take heart? many people find a bald head a sign of virility.
My dad is pretty much almost completely bald except for a few patches of hair here and there on his head. He generally keeps it clean shaven though. His father is in his 70's and still has a whole head of hair, oddly enough. I wish I had taken after him. I've only seen my mother's father maybe twice in my entire life (he's not a good person), but I do recall him being almost completely bald as well. Go figure.
I realized my hair felt like it was thinning/falling out about a month ago, but I suppose it wasn't visible enough yet, as my doctor just sort of scoffed and attributed it to nerves and offered to prescribe me an antidepressant when I asked him about it. It was bound to happen eventually seeing how my mother also has thinning hair on her scalp that happened not long after going through menopause, I was just kind of hoping it wouldn't.
The men in my family can grow amazing facial hair (I'm pretty sure all Italians are actually lycanthropes tbh), so I'll just do this.

I would speak to your doctor about it. Cutting your T dose is an option, but if it's genetic loss and your hair is already thin, it may not help you. Rogaine could be an option.
What exactly would cutting my dosage do? I'm just curious, I've read about people doing it when faced with hair loss, but I don't really understand. Would it slow my changes or really have much of an effect on halting this? Since this is FPB, when using Rogaine, should I be on the 2% dosage, or since I'm FtM, should I do the men's dosage of 5%? Also, sort of random, but I've read stories about Rogaine killing cats because of the residue it can leave on stuff such as sheets/pillow cases. I have two fur babies and I would be devastated if I lost them. I'm sorry I'm so full of questions and I know that there's threads like this made a lot, but I mostly saw people with MPB as opposed to FPB. I should probably throw all of these questions at my doctor, but I figured I'd ask anyway in case you or anyone else might have an idea. Sorry if it's overwhelming!
