Curious, anyone know of a trans group in OKC? I found one called 'the twofold group', but they seem kind of... cult-ish. I'd be really interested to hear if anyone knows anything about them, or of another group in the area.
What the hell was that?!                 From every wound there is a scar,
Spaceball 1.                                     and every scar tells a story.
*gasp* They've gone to plaid!        A story that says,
                                                        "I survived."

I did see a reference to the two fer group you referenced.  You are right, they are sketchy.  If someone won't provide any information about themselves or their group, you have to wonder.

Looking at the COTA site, it is apparent that is has not been updated or kept up for some time.  with the last update so long ago, I suspect that COTA, like TRI-ESS and the Sigma Beta chapter are shells of their former selves at best.

I am thinking that support in the Oklahoma city area for crossdressing or anything simular, is out the window for some time.

I know they were planning on starting a trans support group at uhhh.... UCO(?)... the one in Edmond.... in their Psych department.  I'm Facebook friends with one of the professors there - not one doing the group, but he posted about it fairly recently. Not sure if it's gone anywhere, but I'll see if I can find anything out. I need something too. Big time.
Goodbye, birth name. Hello, Joel.

This was posted on September 29th, and haven't seen anything since, so like I said, not sure if it has gone anywhere, but worth checking out....

"FREE Transgender Therapy Group in Edmond!
The UCO Psychology Clinic is offering a free therapeutic group to people in the community who are transgender, and want to connect with others, learn coping skills for dealing with life issues, and build confidence. We would like to be able to offer groups for various ages.

The groups will meet for 1.5 hours once per week and will start the week of October 4th on the University of Central Oklahoma campus. Day, time and location to be determined based on members' availability.
To discuss the group or for more information, please call the UCO Psychology Clinic at 405-974-2758 or email at psychclinic@uco.edu."

Hope this helps!

Regarding the group. . .

I had attempted to follow up on the second message, but it seems the number was no longer good.

I have been a bit reluctant as both groups are more dedicated to transgender as opposed to crossdressing.  While we have many simularities, there are differences as well.  I had posted a message about the crossdressing group on fetlife as well, specifically stating I was interested in forming a support group ONLY, I received several responses looking for a sexual hookup. . ..

There are a total of 3 of us that are communicating now, and are still interested in a crossdressing group.  We are not transexuals, and we feel that there are some important differences between the needs of both groups.  As we have no desire to change sex or actually modify our bodies, we would like to find other crossdressers.

I suspect in a city as big as Oklahoma city, there are many other crossdressers who do not have body modification desires.
