Hi there,

I'm traveling to Buenos Aires in a few weeks for a hair transplant. The surgery performing the work have requested that I have an ECG performed here, among other things, prior to surgery.

I had this done and sent over to them. They have said though that 'report surgical risk should say : Regular surgical risk , or risk surgical Grade 1'

I've spoken with my GP and she has said that in the UK the ECG is sent to the surgeon and it is up to her/him to determine surgical risk. FWIW the ECG is states 'normal ECG'.

Can anyone advise how I can move things forward here?

TIA

I live in Argentina. According to the law here every person undergoing surgery must get what is called a "surgical risk evaluation". This evaluation consists of an ECG and a set of questions asked by a cardiologist about your habits like if you do sports or stay mostly seated, about heart deceases of yourself or your family, about medication that you take, etc... The cardiologist writes then a report with the conclusions which can be high, medium or low surgical risk.
Honestly I don't understand why your surgeon is so picky if you are just going to get hair transplants with local anesthesia, it must be some compliance thing. If they insist they could tell you where to get the surgical risk evaluation in Buenos Aires the day before the surgery, it doesn't take more than 10 minutes and is not expensive
