I'm currently not on HRT for health reasons. Is it still possible for me to get size D breasts from just breast implants alone?

From the breast comparison chart above (it was the only one I could find online), I'm interested in the 78 cm D cup breasts.

You can. I know several trans who was pre HRT and already have their BA

D cups with no prior breast growth? Be prepared for 2 options..

1) Multiple, repeat procedures to increase the implant size over time..

2) Not sure if they still do these, but I remember reading about implants that can be increased in size over time, these were saline-filled.

The thing to remember is that they are likely to look incredibly fake..

The other thing is that a D cup is not a consistent measure; the cup volume varies by band size. So a 34D is the same cup volume as 36C, 38B, 40A, etc. It's my understanding that most surgeons don't want to get or give answers in cup sizes for this reason. If what you want is a particular projection and fullness, you may need a larger or smaller implant depending on your chest size and frame size. So the answer is sort of that there's no way for someone who hasn't examined you to know; it depends both on the elasticity of your skin and how much implant volume you would actually need.

I was 3.5 month on hormones when i did my implants.  550cc smooth round high profile, cohesive gel implants.

I started up with 38C then i lost band size but the implant also lost size due to swelling fading after months ( it can take up to 1 year before you have final result). so ive been with 36C for a while  then now i can almost fit a 34D bra, i just need to lose more weight(30-40 lbs to lose)  so yes its possible.

However.. i wouldnt recommend going with a real D before hormones or early transition.  Breast are growing for 2-3 year and it is possible that you dont get much until second year. So be aware that you may end with weird breast shape or bigger then expected breast size  and to have to redo procedure later in transition.  Just remember that MOST trans on hormones arent getting past A-B cup naturally so its a gamble game.

Not my case, all girls ive shown them are jaleous . but i agree , its a gamble

Edit: Also, it depends on wich bra company you are using.   Victoria secret and LaSenza use different size chart ( band is different for both company)

It is possible, but most likely not in a single step.  When my friend had her double mastectomy, the result was a chest as flat as any I had ever seen.  She is a D now, but it took several stretching periods using an expander.  The answer simply is "yes".  Finding a surgeon will take a little more work and it will take some time, but you can do it.

I have a B cup and was told that anything above a 600cc implant would be too big and look strange for my frame (I know this is subjective).  The surgeon I consulted said that he could implant a 600cc right now with no issues.

It could be best to get in for a consult and discuss it with your potential surgeon.

While it's true that we are limited by our genetics, I am beginning to believe that this statement is partially false. This was what was believed when I was transitioning and in my therapy group which had many people go through it, only one person was able to obtain a C cup. Nobody exceeded that size in the 5 years or so that I attended the group.

I now believe the lack of blocker, the fact that premarin instead of estradiol was used, that HRT was only provided in pill form and levels were never tested resulted in none of us ever leaving the menopause levels. Personally, while I was on a "transition" dosage, I suspect my levels were never higher than half the upper menopause level judging by current results. On this site I see many people far exceeding the results I saw in my therapy group.

This is why it's best to wait until HRT has had sufficient time to work before considering BA.

Dena: I agree with you there, and I think there's no actual research into any of this, so there's really no way to know. (My personal theory is that the band/cup relationship is actually the problem here - if a trans woman gets the same breast volume as a mother or sister but her chest is just a little bit bigger, the "cup size" will be smaller. In other words, if her mother is a 36D and her chest is a 38, she's one cup size smaller at 38C... but the same breast size.)

I have to admit, I only know a couple trans women personally who are *under* a B cup, and they're both really skinny. :) So personal anecdotes can definitely skew the impression. I think someone did a poll here once, though, and did get a lot of answers over A/B cup (with the caveat that band size wasn't used).

My under breast chest measures 39 inches ( I lost 12 pounds so it may be a bit lower). I am an A cup (40A). Tough to find a bra! I have been on HRT over 3 years. My Mom was a DD and sister a D. My daughter is a D.

In 7 weeks I will have 550 cc silicone implants. I wanted a full C. They will be round, above muscle cohesive silicone ( not like the old silicone implants and will not migrate if the sheathing is cut like in a car accident).

I do not know if the doctor would go larger. I wanted to shy away from a D with my band size of 40. As I explained to the doctor my main goal is to fit in and not be too large but have definition.

There are many factors to consider.  You really should discuss options with a plastic surgeon who is very experienced in breast augmentation.  Someone who uses all types of implants from different manufacturers; is able to place the implant in all the various planes, including subfascially; and is able to insert the implant from the armpit, under the breast, and through the areola.  The decision on what type, where to place the implant, and how to insert it will depend largely on your anatomy and the result you want to achieve.

For example, if you are thin with little natural breast growth, submuscular placement with a shaped highly cohesive silicone implant is going to give a great natural looking breast.  You'll need the muscle tissue to cover the implant so that it looks nicely contoured.  But shaped implants are limited in size (Mentor's largest is 755 cc for their tall, high profile teardrop implant).  That may not get you to a D cup if you have little natural breast tissue and a 40" chest.  Also, these "gummy bear" implants need a larger incision and are almost always inserted inframammary (breast crease).

You could go with a non-shaped silicone or saline implant submuscular, but without much breast tissue, the shape is not likely to look natural, and animation effects are going to be more obvious.  I think it's best to be on HRT for 2 years before doing breast augmentation, then size the implant based on your existing breast width and height.  Otherwise, don't be surprised if your breasts look fake.  Now if that doesn't matter to you, then you have far fewer restrictions to consider.  Good luck.

With only rare exception, implanted breasts look exactly like what they are when seen directly. In a bra and clothes, they can look about the same as natural breasts. So consider this idea. If you aren't planning to pose for nude selfies, but only wish to look shapely in clothes, buy some silicon breast forms. Good ones will look exactly like implanted breasts do in clothes. You can wear any size you want and you won't have to deal with being too large if you gain breast size from hormones later. And you will save a whole lot of money in the short term.

You need to have some natural growth in order to have room/skin to stretch over the implants. If not an expanded will be necessary.

I got my implants a year ago when I was a small A cup. I opted for Mentor 500 cc cohesive gel implants placed submuscular through my areola.  I was only on HRT for about 7 months.  I am a 38 C/D and people tell me they look pretty incredible. Even with out a bra....

I'm still pre-HRT and have some breast tissue that is something in the range of an A- with 40" underbust measurement. I'm not skinny, perhaps slightly overweight but absolutely not obese.--these are not typical overweight "moobs."  The breasts have been present since puberty, L>R after having some "development" at the time of puberty which I remember vividly.  Earlier in my life they were something of a source of embarrassment, now I welcome them.

I did my homework  using the rice in stocking method to trial breast volume.  I like the more demure appearance of about a generous B cup given my frame size.  To achieve this I need nominally about 300 cc of extra volume on the left, slightly more, about 350-400 cc or the right given the asymmetry of the underlying breast tissue.
I am Jess--  You look fantastic, especially in the white dress.   Congratulations.
I purchased a pair of Softleaves X99 silicone enhancers (not breast forms) which are ~300 cc in volume.  They provide an excellent fit with a variety of 40B bras and give the silhouette I would like to achieve in the long run.  These things are really good if you have some tissue to start with, acting like something on the order of  push-up pads, short of breast forms enhancing while retaining the appearance of ones own breast tissue.

I can only guess what HRT will do, especially since I am older, in my late 50's,  without big breasted women in my family.  I would love to reach a natural un-augmented 40B, something which is not predictably achievable but seem to be within reach. The volume of a C or D cup seems very large to me, not something I currently desire.  I trialed a 40C which just seemed just slightly more than the upper limits of what I would want to achieve.  I am willing to wait it out and see what HRT has in store for me.

Galaxy,
With an underbust measurement of 33" (=34 band size) and 440 cc augmentation volume I would have expected you to get you up to well in excess of a D cup size.  Do you actually fit into a 34 A or B cup bra?

At a 40 band size my estimation was ~400-450 cc would get me to about a 40C.  Using the sister sizing concept, this volume would equate to the following bra sizes: 44A, 42B, 40C, 38D, 36DD, 34 DDD, ...
