Haha! Well you definitely look waaay younger than your age in those first two pics, nice beanie hat though, I dig wearing them myself. I have to say though you lean towards masculine female or youthful male, so as with anything youve got to play up other traits until you can get on T

Good to see you again, hope you both stick around and feed us updates someday when you become hella manly men cuz dang do I want to see that transformation

Cheers! Hey, pushing 40, I'll take all the youthful looks I can get lol. Generally speaking, I do tend to look younger than my actual age, though now you see some wrinkles when I smile.

Since the summer, I've been working on losing weight and improving physical condition. Since the start of the year I've dropped about 15lbs, so that helps to make my face a little less round (the last picture is from June just to show hair, which is bit longer/shaggier now - other pics from last week). Renewing exercise efforts now with running, swimming and workouts.

I'll put a bit more of an update in the other thread. :)

ETA: I knit the hat, so I'm proud lol.

I'm 12 weeks on T today and took some pictures. Most of the time I'm getting called sir or nothing now that my voice has gotten a little deeper. I'm working on losing more weight, but health problems make it complicated. Anyway do I pass and is there anything that you think will help me pass better. I've been playing around with hairstyles some and currently have a sort of textured fade style, that needs a touch up.

You definitely pass; hard to believe you're only 2 months on T.

Alright, so I'll throw myself into the ring here too. Pre-T, pre-everything... feeling very self-conscious. I definitely don't pass if i speak, but I'm hoping to be androgynous at least. Excuse the weird expressions... it's apparently my not-so-secret talent. :)

I'd say you look kind of in between, but if your mannerisms are masculine, I'd surely call you sir. For me, you pass better in the second one, don't know exactly why. And your hat is cool, great job with it.~

I do feel a bit in between at the moment, so that's a fair assessment. But if I talk, the gig is up. :)

11 weeks on T.  I feel like my face is what stops me from passing the most.

^^lilred if you feel its your face its most likely you still got a bit of cheek fat that might tip people off but given a bit more time that will get angular, youre already doing so well and you can pass

This is just me but to me it's not your face but actually the shape of your body. Maybe try button down shirts instead of t-shirts to obscure your waist-hip ratio. I get misgendered a lot in t shirts myself. Your forearms actually look quite squishy and feminine. Longer on T will change that, of course.

Your face is quite masculine looking; squarer glasses would help; naybe with half frames (I wear glasses myself). Wearing tighter tshirts also help you look more muscular. Just keep in mind you're going to be in the awkward inbetween faze until 7/8 months; which is when most ftms start looking simply male. The wait sucks but it's worth it.

Congrats on getting T btw :)

The reason I feel it's mostly my face is because I pass almost 100% from behind but maybe 10% face to face.  0% if I speak lol although my voice is finally starting to drop..yay!  Muscle definition will definately help and I'm trying to get more consistent with that.

You guys look great and have a great advantage.

It is much easier for you to pass as male than it is for an MTF to pass as female.  You are also less likely to be questioned in male gendered facilities than an MTF is to be questioned in female gendered facilities.  I frequently see Cis-females using male public restrooms without any fear of rejection or prosecution.

Again, you guys look great and pass well; enjoy your advantage!

While all that is true, it honestly is not a particularly good feeling to have it stated to you.  The fact that there are certain parts of being FTM that helps you pass easier than an MTF might DOESN'T actually mean you avoid the pain, struggle, acceptance issues, self hatred, etc.  We FTMs deal with all of that just as deeply and urgently as MTFs do and I feel that we should ALL have a lot of respect for each other and the intense struggles we face rather than trying to call out one person's struggle as somehow less difficult than another's. I know you probably didn't mean the comment in a negative way, but it is a point I get tired of hearing considering all of the many struggles I DO face on a daily basis.
