Hey All,

Here's a topic I haven't seen addressed here but I am curious what, if anything, you may have experienced.... Hope I don't sound too crazy!!! But if I do, Oh well, not the fist time!!! :-D

After living a life that was not my own for the first 52 years. I was overwhelmed with the desire to deeply explore what I had always known about myself since I was a child... The moment I realized that I could transition, my decision was made and I immediately set about moving towards that goal

At that same time I had noticed that I kept seeing the number 11:11 everywhere...looking at clocks and watches after not checking the time for hours, kitchen timers, stock quotes, times texts and emails came through etc... It was to the point that I complained about it to coworkers... Finally I googled 11:11 and found many websites, YouTube videos etc.devoted to it pop up immediately ... The gist of what they said is that it is a sign you are on the right spiritual path

In addition, it seemed like everything in my life fell together at the same time in very uncanny ways to make the whole process come together easily... I also kept havng other strange things with dates and numbers... Unknown to me at the time... I had filed my name/gender change paperwork on the Bday of my maternal grandmother (deceased) who I was very close to, and the court date to appear for gender change was my mother's Bday (also deceased) and I began to see her birthday, 9/19 everywhere. It even came on the license plate of my new car. My then fiancé said he thought the women of the family were welcoming me into their ranks!..We chose 9/19 for our wedding day!!!....This is just the tip of the iceberg of things I have noticed but I was wondering if any of you also had experienced things you took as .... (Insert thread title :-) ... Signs From The Universe!!!

Hi Naomi and thank you for the reply!..

I suppose confirmation bias is possible but if I had a personality or way of thinking that sought out confirmation of my decisions, I would think that I would have had other examples in my first half century of life... Also, I went for quite a while before I looked into it so ...I was seeing it constantly without regarding it as confirmation of anything... Just a strange phenomanae

I do continue though, to believe as I always have, that there is far more to our lives than that which we see with our eyes.

So I have a number too, it is 436.  Not sure why it is that number, but good directions seem to radiate when I see it.

My take is simple...there is a path in life that is the smoothest for us.  When we are close to it, the universe will ease the roadblocks that we encounter.  Not sure what it is really called, but my choices are affirmed all the time and when I hit rough patches, I usually look for what I am doing to complicate things.  The universe conspires to fulfill us!

I too have a similar belief that we are guided towards the things we need to experience in this life but it is up to us to walk down the path and make those experiences happen...

Without bringing religious aspect into things, I think there are two ways of looking at the universe...

Either we are just a meaningless byproduct of it and have no real meaning amongst the endless void of planets, stars and galaxies or...

We are a vital part of whatever it all is about and we are here for a higher purpose far beyond just existing... That is what I chose to believe and let guide my life...I believe everything matters in a larger sense... All our decisions, how we treat others, the actions we take are all like the ripples that fan out from a rock thrown into a pond.... They keep going and can turn into mighty waves that touch distant shore which we may never see....

I think in this case, even confirmation bias tells us something... After all, there has to be something inside us to confirm (an idea, a desire...).

I used to wish on stars... And birthday cakes, and coins thrown into wells, and on and on. I used to follow life extension research, only because I thought if I lived long enough, someone would figure out how to make me the woman I wanted to be. When I realized I was living for these things... For the simple *wish* to transition... That's when I finally went looking for a therapist.

So understanding what we need, whether through therapy or numerology or portents in the stars, is very powerful.

Ashley, Kaitylynn, I love your philosophy. There may be too much scientist in me to  *feel* it, but it's beautiful. (And apologies Naomi for my intro, I thought it was too funny to resist!)

Mind over matter.

If the mind is content in what one is doing, what does it matter?

However you arrive at such things. I'm inclined to believe that the mind is a powerful tool, and when it wants something. No, needs something, then the rest falls into place. Whether there is some kind of cosmic providence or not. If there is, more power to it.

No offense but I think it's nonsense... think about it, you look at the clock and see tons of different times everyday, but you only really see them with anything more than a passing inspection if it's one of the "special" ones, 11:11, 3:33, 4:20, etc.. or other ones that you form an attachment to. Like, oh, it's 2:05, I'm going to forget about that in a couple minutes because there's nothing "significant" about it

Not saying this to in anyway diminish your happiness, or belief that you're on the right path, but if you really truly feel you're on the right life path it's a presence and feeling inside of you, not something indicated by a clock

As I said... Just an observation of an interesting phenomena that did not manifest in my first 52 years of life... If I was prone to making and assigning meaning to a number sequence, it seems like I might have done it some time in the preceding half century

You are not alone. For me, it is the number 7 and the number 4.  Odd that these two numbers add up to 11.  I, like you, used to ignore it and not think much of it until it became evident that events in my life align to these numbers.  Also, I have taken note that the number 13 is extremely fortunate for me -- and this number adds up to 4. 

Just like you, I studied on it and surmised what you did -- we are on the right path.  Where the path is taking me, I do not know, but I know I'm on the right one (and no, I'm not hearing the twilight zone music ..haha). 

Thank you for sharing that bit of information. Good to know that others have observed the same coincidence.
