I know some of it has to do with genetics, but did any of you start to see a decline in it after a while? I started getting smaller spots scattered randomly throughout my back as soon as I started HRT a year ago. In the last couple of months, though, I've been getting really deep cystic spots on my shoulders/shoulder blades.

With any luck this will clear up before next summer, but... there's no breath holding going on.

My skin had just started to settle down around the time I started T, so naturally it blew back up again. It only settled down for me after my hysterectomy.

I haven't seen any of it yet. I noticed the 10x oilier skin immediately and expected more spots, but they appear under control again now I use tea tree wash daily.

I have a habit of rubbing germolene on spots and sometimes just on the face in general, twice a week or so. Keeps them 90% gone.

How long have you been on T?
I got oily as **** the first three months. Not really much in the way of acne (on my face, anyway), but I was grossly oily. My fiancée kept buying me these oil absorbing sheets to try and help. I could just lay one across my skin and it would look clear and wet because it would be so saturated.
She could've rubbed her whole body with it and not made a mark.
But yeah. I had to carry them and use them probably every 2 hours or I looked like a McDonald's deep fryer. Then one day, I woke up and... nothing.

I'm not even on T and I have pretty bad acne on my back/shoulders especially! I forget about daily treatments a lot of the time (I forget to brush my teeth as well, oops) and got prescribed antibiotics for it after having been recommended other creams and stuff that I never really used properly. The antibiotics worked well but the pills kept getting stuck in my throat until the next time I ate, and if I happened to burp then it tasted pretty rank. Pros and cons to everything I suppose haha
I think it's slightly better than it was before the antibiotics, maybe. But I'm trying to keep my gubby fingers off it more so that could be a part of it

Under 1 month.

I've always been naturally pretty oily. At least on my face. For the last 10 years or so I'd gotten into the habit of never touching or scratching my face except to wash it to stop getting anything in the pores. I'll be really surprised if it decides to quite being oily now. I think I'm just a genetic greasebucket.

Yeah my SO is very un-oily too. One of the indicators is the kinda ear wax people have apparently. If they have soft oily ear wax they probably sweat more and have oilier skin genetically. If they have that crumbly type ear wax, chances are they'll sweat little and have less greasy faces. I have that soft ear wax which makes it very easy to clean away with a Q-tip, but I do sweat more and my face is not far off feeling like a chip wrapper atm.

I did get more back acne (and acne in general, but not much) my doctor had once contemplated if regularly binding added to the issue; if you bind daily/constantly it might add to the problem a bit

Nah, I had top surgery before I started HRT. I've been post-op for about 14 months now. I do workout a lot (five days a week) but I shower when I get home to get rid of the buckets of sweat.
I keep thinking about my fiancée's dad that had bacne until he was in his mid forties and hoping that's not my narrative.

Hey, man, you might luck out. I was a bucket of oil before T, too. The hormones just took the issue to a whole new level those first three months.
I'm not saying that I'm suddenly dry or normal by any stretch but it's a lot better than it's ever been at this point. I can now go an entire day without washing my hair whereas before I'd look like I'd trekked through the jungle when I woke up.

Yeah! I currently wake up looking as sweaty as the cast of Predator. It's not sweat, just oil that somehow materializes during the 4 hr naps I'm taking.

The annoying thing is I wash it off and the skin hates that's it's gone and feels tight. The oil doesn't come back for most of the day and I keep forgetting to moisturize.

I've been dealing with bacne ever since I started T. My first few months it was way out of control but it was mainly on my lower back above my butt crack. It's chilled out a tiny bit but not a lot. I've been trying everything to get rid of it and right now I'm using African Black Soap. I've seen it clear up a tiny bit but not a whole lot. I'll see how it goes with continued use.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I dunno.

I got facial acne the first week on T but didn't have any bacne until being on T for 4 months. All the sudden it became a huge problem and still is. I'm really hoping it's a temporary problem because nothing seems to really help it.

I hope it goes better for you than it has for me, man. I just entered my 15th month and it's still raging on (mine started to kick up around 5 months in).
It's actually sort of funny when I think about it; the tits used to be what stopped me from going shirtless and now it's the bacne.

Your lower back? I think that's the one place I haven't gotten it, oddly enough. My fiancée bought some African Black soap products a few months ago and never used them. Maybe I should commandeer a few, hahah.

Yeah I've always had it on my lower back. I'm almost done with my first bar of the African soap and it has cleared up quite a bit. It's not as red as it usually is and there aren't as many bumps. I've also been using it on my DI scars and noticed a very small change with my scars turning more white. That could just be the healing process though and not the soap. Also my diet is a little bit different so that could also be a factor in the bacne issue.

I always wash my back last in the shower.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I dunno.

Yep, I got it now. Not severe, but we're talking there always being at least 1 painful zit somewhere I can't easily reach to annihilate it. Drenching myself in salt water (i.e. the sea) in the morning every few days might be helping but otherwise it's difficult to even get to some of the areas to apply anything. I guess I could ask someone to rub some stuff on my back. It's mostly on the spine for some reason. What usually keeps that in check IIRC is Germolene or something similar rubbed in every so often.

It's definitely the excess oil, nothing else... has to be since none of my other habits have changed and I was pretty spot free on the back my whole life. Luckily it doesn't bother me much unless something happens to dig into a sore part.

I have the exact same problem. Right by the spine and they are giant welts that form over the course of a day. I am flexible enough to reach them all though. They hurt to pop and a lot of gunk comes out.
