I live in Norway where it is difficult to get a doctor's prescription for female hormones if you are not SRS-track and if you are over thirty.  When I first tried to post about my interim solution to this via a powerful herb from Thailand, I was censored for mentioning its name.  So I will just say I have been taking it for nearly a year and a half and have seen some results, but these have been minimal.  It is also difficult to order larger quantities or dosage of this herb because of customs restrictions here.  Norwegians are not favorable towards people like me who enjoy being in between genders and only want to increase their femininity.  They seem to like people who fit into watertight compartments, and although I hear rumors of increasing flexibility in the laws, I have yet to see it.  I am currently in a cycle of frustration between the Norwegian post office, which intercepted my last shipment from Thailand, and a vendor in Thailand who continues to send me a double shipment to make up for an initial single shipment in October which was stolen.  The dosage is low, so it is really not worth the effort.  The P.O. seems unable to locate the exact regulation governing the interception and interdiction of my most recent package.  Such a tempest in a teapot!

I wonder if I could be doing something more effective as far as my HRT is concerned?  I present the above in hopes of receiving some suggestions for doing so.

Wishing you all a successful and satisfying transition, I remain

In a country with socialized medicine your options are limited if you use the government medical system. If a private practice exist in your country, you could go private. Your only other option would be to see a doctor outside your country. This problem exist in the UK but private practice has something called bridging where private doctors will handle HRT until you qualify for the public system. Medical HRT is the safest and most potent form of treatment and that's why we try to have our members take this approach.

How difficult would it be to travel to Denmark or the Netherlands to find suitable physicians and medication?  Is Sweden any better?

Be careful with herbal HRT.  Natural does not equal safe.  If it can have an effect, it can have side effects.

I am not a medical doctor, nor a scientist - opinions expressed by me on the subject of HRT are merely based on my own review of some of the scientific literature over the last decade or so, on anecdotal evidence from women in various discussion forums that I have come across, and my personal experience

On HRT since early 2004
Post-op since late 2005

I'm the poster child for herbal supplements, I've gotten great results.

It's important to remember that Big Pharma made us transgender when we run to Big Pharma for a solution. It comes across like Stockholm syndrome to me.

Hugs, Devlyn
