Males and Females produce progesterone in equal number, except
in the fertile female phase where the progesterone levels shoot up
tremendously.
Provera is a progestin, is not the ideal, but not the worst of the progestins
(the worst are those used in birth control pills). Duphaston is a
better progestin; it has virtually no side effects. Yet,
myself, I tolerated provera very well
while others don't. Its used to mature the breasts, make it rounder and
fuller. The chance of masculinasing side effects are very slight; the
most prevalent side effect is on mood. If your mood is altered (feel depressed for example) in any way when you start taking it, stop.
If you can, tell your Endo to switch you to a bio identical progesterone,
whatever the brand. But, if you tolerate provera, it can be ok too.
