So I'm starting to look into some options to see what's available as far as a vaginoplasty. But it seems there's a ton of options, and I don't really know what would be best...

I was thinking one of the doctors in Thailand, like Chettawut, as it appears to be cheaper and from what I can see on his site the results are good. I also kind of like the way the procedure is described and outlined, the results pictures look good too.

But then I was also thinking that you normally get what you pay for, so if you spend less money you can expect lesser results. So I looked around, and found like a billion surgeons all over the US who will do it, and I don't even know where to begin. Some in CO some in CA.... others in PA and IL.... they're everywhere. I've heard California has the best surgeons for this kind of thing, but I'm not sure. Have a friend who just got hers done there and she said she's happy with everything.

But I thought I would ask, maybe get some advice.

So anyone who knows a few things, especially if you've had your procedures done already, can I be super nosy and ask what recommendations you might have as to whom would be a good doctor for this? I'm not particular as to the depth, mostly the outer appearance and the sensation available once everything's sewn shut again.

I personally think Suporn, Chettawut, and Meltzer deliver the most consistently good results.

To some extent, most people who have good results will be partial to the person who did their surgery. And even in a surgery with a pretty large degree of complexity with regards to its modification of an area with a huge amount of nerve endings, the fact is the chance of serious/permanent complications among most major surgeons is pretty minor, as most surgeons who have been doing this for several years have fine-tuned their own procedure to the point where it's standardized—if not for all surgeons across the world, then for that specific surgeon/practice/hospital/etc. So in general, once you're looking at someone who's performed 100+ surgeries, I think the differences are rather minor from a functional stand point, and more down to personal preference.

It's worth thinking about not just the price for the surgery itself, but also of course the cost of travel, the cost of time off from work, and so on. Other than that, I'll say that you seem to have done some research so far about surgeons in the US, but it might be worth looking at Brassard in Montréal. Around the time when I had surgery with him, about five years ago, the price was comparable to surgeons in the US like McGinn, Bowers, etc., but the Canadian dollar is weaker than it was five years ago, so it might be more inexpensive for an American these days.
