I need some advice....

Maybe I'm overthinking this, but I've tried a couple different wigs one a bleached blonde the other a dark brunette. Both thinned I've been told the coloring is wrong. The center part is wrong. The cut is too sharp for my face. I really liked this blonde wigs (and for me to like the idea of wigs is huge).

I don't know what to do. I'm feeling super depressed right now. I don't want to call it quits, but I want to continue moving forward and I'd really like find a hair style/color that's going to look good.

Here is the most recent wig...

I'm feeling lost, please help!!!

Hi hun,  are there any wig shops near you?  I went to a great one where we tried lots of different styles,  colours and lengths. I've been twice,  dressed boy-mode the first time,  and as myself the second,  the staff were very friendly and helpful both times.  X

I am just getting into wigs myself, and am by no means an expert, but I am learning.  If you haven't been to a wig store, where you can try our a variety of styles and colors, it's going to take a lot or trial and error to find something that works.  From your photo, it looks a little like you may be pulling the hairline down too much.  Women's hairlines are generally higher than you think they are, pay close attention to women' hair and test this.

What's the natural color of your hair?  It's fun to try contrasting colors, but it may be easier to start by keeping with your own palette.

Lastly, you have to remember that mens' heads/faces tend to be larger than women', so lots of styles will just not ever work for us, just because of the way the style hits out lines.  If you pull that wig you're wearing up a little, to get a more natural hairline, you'll probably find that that curl hits you right at your jawline, and will just not look right.  If I were you, (and I really am in many ways), I'd try out some longer hair, try a few different textures (straight, wavy, more curly) to find one or more types that look good.  I'll look into whether my wife knows off any good Seattle shops (she's from there).

Hope this helps.  Good luck and have fun!

Nothing beats an actual wig shop... color, cut, and style are very important.  Best done in person to see what you like and what you feel is flattering.  Once you've tried a few styles then you can better order from online sources.  The photos of online wig purchases are never "right on" and they have been professionally fitted to the model so they are somewhat decieving.

An off center part, layers below the collar bone is about what you need to look st.  Or perhaps something with a rounded fringe bangs, also below the collar bone.  Short hair is difficult to work with.  something like this may work better

As tempting as it is, I would stay away from harsh changes from your natural hair color... Especially the blondes.  Something with a couple highlights, but keep it subtle until you get rid of the beard shadow.  The brighter the wig, the more your shadow with stand out.

I am going to suggest this virtual hair style finder. Upload your picture and start trying them on. There is a large inventory of styles and colors. Hope you find something you like. I can tell platnum blonde may not be your color but a darker blond might be perfect.  Not an endorsement but a tool for a better you.

I am a dirty blonde going white. I've skipped grey. When I was younger I was a blonde.

I'm second on the far left. I was in my early 20's

Wow Harley. You look amazing. I guess I'll be spending my afternoon at the shop I got that wig from. I didn't really get a chance to try things on last night, it was the only one that really kinda jumped out at me.

Your wig kind of reminds me of Nicki Manij. If you pick a wig a shade darker and fuller bodied you will look great. Head to your wig shop and dont give up you will find  something pretty. If you dont like the wig  you have dont worry. Maybe if you have the funds you could get a human hair wig or some other synthetic.

I actually boought a wig that looks just like that because I was thinking about cutting my natural hair like that and color it platinum. I think you should buy a darker wig with curls.

How about this one?

You should try lace front wigs ... like at sassysecret dot com .... of course get custom or extra large ... for ur hairline. They are not that expensive .... for being lace wigs

Have you tried pulling it back in a pony? Or up in back with a hair claw clip?

In the first pic you're wearing it too low but it doesn't suit regardless I think. The second doesn't look like a wig anyone would wear everyday. Looks like it's for the stage or for special occasions. I say go for a brown or dark/dirty blonde and less elaborate at least to start with. You generally don't want to make a huge statement with the wig this early.

A suggestion; take a coffee break, sit back, and do some girl watching.  No, really.  Look for women that are roughly your age and have very roughly your face shape (round, narrow, squared, etc) and note the hair styles.

Shop for a similar wig in a similar style and length, in a common real-world color, like the 'dark blond' or 'honey ginger' sorts of tones, on down to auburn.  (Black hair is as hard to pull off as platinum blonde.  Avoid!)

I'd suggest avoiding the obvious bangs, in favor of something swept across the forehead, part on one side and swept to the opposite side.  Bangs like on that second light blonde curly wig are rarely seen outside 50s movies.

The goal is to have 'ordinary' hair. I'm older, and actually got a gray haired wig for my first real-world forays beyond therapy sessions. I combined this with my 'granny goes to the mall' outfits; jeans, bland top combined with cardigan or open front denim blouse, dark sneakers.  I was effectively invisible, another 60-something wandering the malls and ignored.

OK, well done!  THAT one definitely works.  Nice color, not over-styled, and not out of place/time.

And that is a happy woman in the last shot.  That's the most important thing of all.
