I started mowing lawns in high school
Then worked in accounting while in college, and post graduation
Did Finance work for the better part of 20 years, in fact I still do that to some degree now
At present, I am a consultant, so I basically solve problems for my clients

I have run my own company for a few years, I am looking at starting a new one in the next few months as I build my plans for world domination...LOL.  Actually, I am working on my plan for what to do during my next 50 years. :)

Before high school, kept boy by my mom and dad to complete my high school diploma, good parents.
Mmmm, after high school, did the military USMC thingie, for 5 years, tough organization, honorable discharge.
After that, worked odd and end jobs, doing security and delivery driver, while going to comm. college/university p/t/f/t.
After that, been working for the local govmint, for the past 19 years, working as a legal tech/paralegal, interfacing with the public at times.

ZZZzzzzz bio compared to other more adventurous types, I like to imagine myself as a big strong oak, then a soaring adventurous eagle.
To know thyself is to be blessed, but to know others is to prevent supreme headaches
Sun Tzu said it best, "To know thyself is half the battle won, but to know yourself and the enemy, is to win 100% of the battles".

Well what currently pays the bills is heavy machinery repair, so all the good stuff from electronic controls systems, hydraulics, mechanicals, engines, ECT.

Been working on our own business for a few years. Basically I dabble in electronic and software engineering. Love to play with microcontrollers, FPGA s and all assorted circuitry. Build my own electronic components for data access in mobile equipment. Specialized in Windows applications involving the physics of measuring and calculating signal delay through ionospheric and tropospheric layers from satellites and thereby measuring space weather. Maybe someday this "hobby" will pay some bills.  ::)

I was a computer repair technician. I got my start in the Navy back around 1971. The return of kidney in my pancreas put me on disability. So now that I'm retired I build computer and fix them for my friends. Over 40 years of playing with computers and I am still enjoying it.

Like a few kids I delivered papers but found it was tough to collect from some adults.  Then as a golf caddie I hauled bags around that seemed to weigh more than me.  I loved the spacious deep green places but working for the wealthy gets old fast.  I was in the US Army at 17 and was assigned several Military Occupational Specialty jobs as they needed me to be including radio operator and field medic in Vietnam.  I valued care over killing and found myself in college after the army service working toward a nursing degree.  During college I worked as a dog catcher for the city of Minneapolis, a janitor in a factory and best was working the Soo-line and Rock Island railroads.  I could work nights, it was mostly outdoors and trains are just cool.  But like too many male dominated jobs, I found guys to be hard on each other and not easy on sissies like me ;)

I finally got to my long time career position as a CRNA, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, and really loved the work and challenges.  I loved being in obstetrics or labor and delivery the most as it was just dreamy to be with women and babies.  There is nothing like being able to support a woman birthing her baby and relieving or taking the pain away.

Now my jobs are unpaid but deeply significant to me as an activist and volunteer.  I finally transitioned too and we all know that's a job. :D  Elected college trustee and water commissioner on one end and serving on a half dozen non profit boards keeps me busy.  I get to travel and wake up when I will most days with no night call, no beepers and no boss. ;D ;D ;D

I'm the national inventory control lead for a technology rental firm that deals mostly with digital displays & signage, computers, laptops, tablets, and AV equipment. The fit is great for me and it's a growing company with only 60+ people. Home base is the Chicago suburbs, but we have locations in Florida and Las Vegas that I occasionally get to travel to. I've been working here since the tail end of July, 2016 and so far it seems to be a great fit for me. I'm comfortable enough that I came out to my supervisor just prior to my 6 month review!

Prior to this, I worked for 3 years right out of college selling wine for a major chain liquor store in the Chicago area. Words can't describe how happy I am to be out of that place. I'm convinced I spent my time there focusing g on how miserable it was so I wouldn't have to think about the denial I was in at the time. Within weeks of leaving there and starting my current gig, I was exploring myself in whole new ways!
Up and away and off I go to lose my mind and find my soul.

Oh you are not alone in the vehicle inspections department.  In many parts of the USA there are similar requirements, though the similar noise level requirement isn't something I've ever seen out this way.  It is always good to be friends with the inspector.

As for what I do?  I am a traveling savior of scientists.  I install, repair, upgrade, move, and train people on the use of extremely expensive and fairly complex pieces of scientific equipment.  It's a pretty small community so I am not going to go into more detail just yet.  But if you're a chemist or biochemist in the USA, it's a pretty even bet that you've seen one of my ~20 coworkers or even I in your lab.

The travel was fun for a while, now it's just sort of a boring routine.  I can probably make my way through Midway airport with my eyes closed now.  The money is great, but I wish I were home more.

I was a computer repair technician. I got my start in the Navy back around 1971.

I also got my start in computers in the Navy in 1969.  Served on SSBN Thomas Jefferson, maintained and ran the computers for setup/launching large nuclear missiles.  Actually got to launch one in the Atlantic Test Range.

After the military I went to work as a contractor on US Fed systems.  Started mainframes, switched to PCs and networks in the 90s.  In the late 90s I switched to, Dept of Army, mainly setup maintenance developing software Oracle database programs.  Retired in 2011.

Now I just use PCs mostly for enjoyment.

All in all that is what I always wanted to do, since I was a teen in school.
AMAB - NOV 13 1950
HRT - Start 1975 / End 1985
Moved in with SO ( Also a MtF ) - 1976 / She didn't believe in same sex marriage

  Georgette,

Yep a very similar career. I was a DS on the USS Albany GG-10 A guided missile cruiser (one of the real ones)

I chose the civilian route after 6 years service and I'm proud of them.

Now I build PCs for myself and friends and help them with their computer problems. I think computers integrate themselves into the lives of technicians like you and me.  I left home to learn about them and have never stopped.

  A kindred spirit,
