Well hi! I'm a college/rabbinical school student who somehow stumbled upon this website during one of my extensive trans-related google searches lol. I've been internally struggling with my gender for a while, and came to terms with it a few years ago. I recently came out to my partner of two years and, long story short, I'm single now. It's been a crazy road and I have no idea where I'm going with this post, but I'm Ezra and it's nice to meet you all (:

Hi, Ezra!

It's good to meet you.  Welcome to the site.

I'm sorry to hear that you lost your partner.  That happens to many of us, unfortunately.  There are many stories like that here. This could be a good place for you as you find your path in life.

I also want to share some links with you. They are mostly welcome information and the rules that govern the site. If you have not had a chance to look through them, please take a moment to go through them.

Things that you should read

Once again, welcome to Susan's. Look around, ask questions and join in.

My personal transition path included medical changes.  The path others take may require no medical intervention, or different care.  We each find our own path. I provide these dates for the curious.

Metanoia

It's good to have another student of theology here. From one child of Abraham to another, Mazel Tov!

Also, just thought I'd say that I have a good friend and mentor who is a retired rabbi. He was very influential in my discernment to be an eventual (hopefully) ordained mainline Christian pastor.

I studied Hebrew with him, and then more so in seminary.

I think there's a couple other trans rabbis, right? I think I remember reading an article about one

Hi Ezra! (Such a great name!),

I'm P. So glad to meet you! I'm a goy but married a Jewish man. He's not religious himself, but his family is in the conservative movement. We still go to some events at the synagogue, do shabbat dinner as a family, and do holidays. I'm definitely wondering how my gender journey is going to play out in some of these Jewish spaces.

That's really tough losing your partner.  We are here for you! So happy to welcome you here--it's a wonderful place.

With love,
P
