I live in a red state (Missouri), work at a company that has excluded trans* care specifically, and had to get the 'proof of gender' (court order of gender change) to get my driver's license changed before GRS. This is nothing new. Same old fight. And mine was not the state gov. job discriminating against me, it was the private enterprise I work for. Same thing we have been dealing with in the mid-west all along.

My birth state (New Mexico) would not accept my 'proof of gender' court order from Missouri, and made me wait until GRS to change my birth certificate. It is already touching the west ....
So, this is not alarming what Wisconsin is doing. Same old story, if you ask me....
Just keep voting the way you believe and petition the backward thinkers to see things logically.
I lobbied my employer for 2 years and told them that the only reason they exclude transcare was for ideological reasons. Not monetary. I was the only trans* in a company of 4000 employees. They listened and added trans* surgeries as of Jan 1, 2017.

(of course, AFTER I already paid out of pocket...lol)
The point is, stay strong in the face of discrimination, take the fight logically and civilly straight to them and don't relent in the face of their bigotry.
