Pre-everything, just got a haircut today in order to hopefully pass better. Do I pass? If you saw me, how old would you think I was?

Your face passes and, to me, you look to be about fourteen or so.
Your eyebrows kick ***, though. Very masculine-shaped.

You definitely pass as a boy (12-16 depending on your height and other features I can't tell in the pictures).

Your face passes very well, but I think the particular way your hair is styled in those pictures is a little more androgynous (the length is fine though). Also, I think as far as nose piercings go, hoops tend to be more masculine than studs. I think you look about 15 but the piercing would make me think older.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it!
And lionheart, thanks for the tips!

Got my binder!!! This is sooo much better than a sports bra...

I guess I'm not too worried about looking if I pass, its the voice that gives me away....
I am curious how old I pass for, I finally stopped getting carded before I started to socially transition lol.

You look like a young adult to me, 18-21... not sure if that would get you carded where you live.

To be honest the shape of your face and chin, as well as your voice, may give you away although the haircut leans towards androgynous. Other than that you seem to pass well

I'd say you'd pass for around 17-19 primarily for the thickness of your neck (which is a good thing--I think that's why a lot of pre-T FTMs fail to look older as most males don't have thin necks for very long after puberty hits).
The binder looks to be flattening you pretty well, too. Your overall 'passing' rate for me is 50/50 and I wouldn't immediately peg you as one or the other if I glanced in your direction.

Thanks guys. I think carding would depend on the cashier...

I eventually want shorter hair (I used to be a 6 on top in HS) but went more on the more masculine side of androgynous since I still use she/her pronouns and my birth name every where but therapy/group. Better to make it a little harder to draw a conclusion.

I am slightly concerned how well my binder will hide things once I lose weight, but this is a 6-12 mo process to get in shape so I have some time to worry about it.

Lol, I've never had a thin throat so that has always worked in my favor.

My voice is my Judas currently. I want to start voice training to deepen it for the time being but don't want to cause even more distress and change for my mister and family too fast.
I did get "sir-ed" the other day at the store so that was awesome!

I would say you look like 18-21, like other hace said. And I wouldn't think you were a girl if I saw you in the street, actually. Aand good luck with your voice. c:

Hey everyone! I'm pre-T and everything, I'm being called sir like 99% of the times but to be honest I can't find much from physical aspect which would place me on that "male" side  (pretty  easy to be critical about yourself huh:P). I'm wondering guys what would you say, how well do I pass for you and what features are "making it" if so. Just honestly. I've added few regular selfies (don't have better quality photos) from different angles

Thanks

didus,

Welcome to the site. Sorry we are late getting this welcome to you.

I see a lot of male characteristics. However, I may not be the best person to ask.

I also want to share some links with you. They are mostly welcome information and the rules that govern the site. If you have not had a chance to look through them, please take a moment:

Once again, welcome to Susan's. Look around, ask questions and join in.

I think that you could pass as either female or male with minor tweaks.  I would like to be able to do the same.

Oh hey this thread is still around. If I get around to it I'll maybe look through the thread and offer advice.

I'm kind of curious how old I pass for though if anyone minds? I've been on Testosterone for 1 year 9 months. My height is roughly 5'10" if that helps at all. Cheers!

I would guess mid 20s!

Hello there. I passed very well until late last year, when I gained 40lbs (medication). I'm still trying to lose the weight, but it's getting to me that I don't pass much any longer. It makes me bitter. I'm genetically male, anyway, or at least male-leaning, so it gives me a five-year-old's style "life isn't fair!" feeling to barely pass at all.

Apart from losing weight and getting a haircut (both long overdue!), what could I do?

I'll get to the passing bit in a minute, but...

Holy ****, is that David Bowie, The Rolling Stones and T. Rex I see in the background? Dude, your taste in music kicks ***.

Okay. As far as the passing thing goes, it's hard to say because you pass pretty well in the face to me. This leads me to believe that the excess weight gain may have just plumped up unfortunate (IE: female) parts of your body. Beyond that... the hair, possibly? Not necessarily the style, but the dye. A lot of guys have issues with passing early on with dyed hair of any sort. If it's something you really dig, though, then screw it.
Sorry I don't really have more, but your musical predilections got me really stoked.

Thank you! Yes, it is. And I'm wearing a Lou Reed T-shirt. Music's what keeps me going through dysphoric days. My walls are covered in records and music posters. The hope that I might be a musician someday, after getting all the medical stuff done so I could feel comfortable on stage, maybe even learn to sing, motivates me to drag myself out of bed every day.

I'll get a full-body photo later. I'm still in bed (7am here). I started bleaching my hair some time in 2016 and my friends liked it so I stuck with it. My old dark brown hair did make me look very pale. I might stick with it. I have considered that the dyed hair makes me look a bit like a lesbian, but I'll probably keep it and just wait for T.

And, thanks again re: the music. It's so good to meet someone with a similar musical taste.

If you dont mind me asking what do you mean you are genetically male?

As far as passing Id have to say your face isnt as angular, but your hair looks good, you could pass well assuming all other masculine traits match up (like body)
