Hi everyone, my name is Nicholas and I recently have started coming out to my friends and family and transgender.  I was born as a female, and now I am transitioning to male.  I am the only lgbt person in my family and needed support from the internet, so here I am!  I hope this is a more comfortable way for me to voice my questions, as I'm still a teen in school and it has been a bumpy road for me  :-\

Hi Nicholas, it is a bumpy road for all of us here. And do please keep in mind that it will be a bumpy road for you Mom and Dad and probably the rest of your family. Transitioning not only effects you but everyone around you.

I am Jeanette, I am MtF and a bit older than you at 64 But I too am transitioning.  I am also a self appointed unofficial greeter and as such I want to welcome you to Susan"s Place. (( hug )) ( I love doing that)  Welcome Nicholas, come on in and find a chair grab a drink and get comfy because you are among friends here. Browse the posts and read the ones that interest you, Ask your questions. We have many resources here you can access through the links at the top of the page. I would suggest the Wiki to start. We also have many people here with a lot of experience of the kind you are personally going through. Make use of the forums to ask for help. You'll get lots of it.

  Anyway welcome Nicholas.

Hugs,
   Jeanette

Hey mate, welcome welcome. I'm just starting down the road of FTM transition myself and also facing the daunting prospect of telling my family and friends. Just want to say congrats on making that bold first step. I'm 34 and can only fantasize what my life would be now if I had transitioned as early as you but alas, the internet literally did not exist back then lol :D

We're in the same boat here. What you feel is valid and you're not alone.

Hi, Nicholas!

We have an active FtM community here, and I'm sure more folks will be along to greet you today. The process of coming out can be bumpy, but the youth of today are far more accepting than when I was in my teens (and we rode dinosaurs to school...).

I hope you feel welcome here.

I also want to share some links with you. They are mostly welcome information and the rules that govern the site. If you have not had a chance to take a look, please take a moment to go through them.

Once again, welcome to Susan's. Look around, ask questions and join in.

My personal transition path included medical changes.  The path others take may require no medical intervention, or different care.  We each find our own path. I provide these dates for the curious.
