So I was thinking a lot lately about being more visible again maybe come out of the stealth life, I miss doing youtube videos (mexlep101) I did them for years documenting my transition from start till I decided to delete them all and go stealth. 
Taking a new steps last couple weeks rekindled a spark to be out and be another success story that's visible, I had gotten so much great feedback from lgbt people it was very rewarding. 
My question is did online vlogs help any of you?  And I know its up to me if I want to start again but I'm curious if anyone went from stealth to being out again and what there experience was like? It felt freeing to be out even if it was just at the Dr. office

Yes, U-Tube videos did help me learn what is possible for a late transitioner, like myself. Also, more importantly, I learned that the first thing to do is accept myself no matter what, if I transition or not.

I really like YouTube videos, especially earlier in when I was still learning a lot. Much better than reading text for some things.

You Tube videos were very important in my decision to finally come out and live full time as my real self.
I've been around a long time and finally for the first time I saw real trans people telling their stories to other trans people without the judgemental editing if cisgender editors in the media. The phenomenon caused a sea change in transgender history IMO.

If I hadn't known someone who was trans in real life, I probably would've found vlogs to be very helpful. I do think it's interesting to hear other people's stories in general, but I can't say that any of the existing vlogs helped my transition personally.

I think they are also good tools for relaying information to family members. A lot of thought seems to go into videos nowadays, and some of these folks are much more eloquent than I am.

In general, the more voices out there, the better. Especially if perhaps your story is a little different than the ones that are currently out there.

Yeah, vlogs were very helpful while I was making "the decision", I'm still not all sure what to expect from hrt since there's kind of a derth of information in the 30-50 age group, and everyone says the earlier the better, it's right after the point that bones become fully fused (mid twenties), so I bet it's even more YMMV than any other age group...

I did not do any vlog watching.  All my research was textual and I never knew any trans* person.  I do understand your eeling of reward regarding the feedback.  I could totally understand you coming out of stealth to help others and get that sense of satisfaction from it.

After my SRS in 77, pretty much had a stealth life.  Not fully as my whole family knows, and the job where I transitioned.  Also since I had Secret to Top Secret till I retired in 2011, they knew I was Trans back to my Navy years in 72-73.  After that in 1993 any new jobs were stealth.

Can't say it is much different now, but in 2015 I came back to the LGBT community.  Things have changed a lot in 38 years.  Still debate on just how much I want to be out.

Was no on-line for most of those years.  Went on-line FB many years ago, but it was for just my family.  Started adding  other friends in the start of 2016.  Don't really have any TG stuff on there, so still kinda stealth.

Youtube videos are a big part of the reason I am here now. It really helped me discover the truth about myself.

There was one video / picture journal that I followed that really impressed me and then I heard the story behind it and I wanted to cry. She decided to pack up the tent and get on with her life. I miss her, she taught me alot. And no. My interests were that of a concerned Grandma.
