Hey !

After review of the pre-surgery site and male organ, I was told ahead of time that I would have an 'open' vagina.   It made me nervous, but I went ahead with it because I was so close to my surgery goal.  I also trusted the surgeon and his clientele.

Fast forward to post-op and voil!á , I have an open vagina below labia.  I'm keeping in mind that the vagina supposedly changes in appearance within three months..  but would this be an optional (but still correct) anatomy ?  I am told everything looks ok by others...     😓   

Just wondering if I need to rewind time a few weeks and start over.   Thanks

Perhaps you should have a look at the great-wall-of-vagina. Google it. Vaginas vary  a LOT, perhaps even more than male organs. Some have practically no labia minora, and still they're fully functional.

This was PAI? There's one SRS photo on their site and I'd guess it matches what you describe?

I just googled this and was surprised at the differences between vaginas. No 2 vaginas were exactly the same. Thanks for sharing that as i'd never seen or heard about it before. 

There's at least one transwomen in the Great Wall of vagina. I used to think it was easy to spot, but now I've looked at so many srs photos I've started seeing some cis vaginas as srs results as well.

I'm not sure what "open" means, but things change dramatically in the first year, much less the first three months. At 1, 3, 6 and even 18 months, I had a gaping hole that was always visible below my labia. (That sounds like it might be what you're worried about.) I also had a ton of swelling. Around the two-year mark, when the swelling had finally fully disappeared, the outer labia draped down to cover the vaginal opening, and the vagina itself started looking like a mostly closed slit except when I'd just taken a dilator out. So give it time.

(I also had a gynecologist think I was cis in that first year, so I'm another vote for "cis vaginas and vulvas vary a LOT," too.)

Teared up a little reading your post, because its familiar to mine.  It gives me hope.  I'm not disappointed with my surgeon, I know he probably did the best he could.. and hey, its better than it was before.
