I stongly believe that hair is the key to a succesful transition. We are not natal women,so we have to face the nightmare of hair loss.I mean at a higher rate compared to natal women. I stuggle to win this fight and i have good hair so far. However, it is woman's quantity and quality i seek. I am on proscar right now.and spiro and ethinyl.Proscar helped a lot i think. However i need a little more:)So my question is this.\ Should i switch to avodart???In theory it sounds perfect.but i hear people not being satisfied. So why does this happen? Why hair loss is still present althought almost 0 T (FIGURE OF SPEECH:)
Has anyone seen GOOD results with progesterone???
Thank you in advance.

You cant regrow totoaly dead hairs... if theyve been dead in a certian area for too long, its just not going to happen...

2: Stress... stress causes hairloss and the thinning of the hair as well...  You can drop you T level to negitive 1,000,000 but if your still overstressed your still going to loose your hair...  Take a break, or a vacation, and stop sweatting the little things...

XD  I used to have a MASSIVE receeding hairline on both sides of my head, a good 5 or 6 inches or so...  and its mostly grown back <pre HRT> just by removing the largest stressors of my life from my daily life <my family>

Maybe you are right, parents can be so stressfull and hold us back. However, i still can not afford to leave them.I can not afford this risk, because in greece everyone who left home, entered the sex industry.I CAN;T do that.
Your hair grew back without ANY HORMONES???

HRT actually makes your hair weaker and finer......genetic females have finer hair than males...

Hair loss aside.  Why do you group yourself with "everyone"?  I'm sure there has been many successfull people from greece that did not enter the sex industry.  Simply moving away doesn't mean that one has to resort to that line of work.

As for hair loss.  I started losing my hair pre HRT pretty quickly and had a bald spot starting in the back.  After being on HRT for a year the hair has all regrown and thickened up considerably.  Also there is a lot of women, and not just older women that suffer from this too.  I know of at least several girls in their 20's that have thinner hair than I do.

perfect quality hair won't happen with hrt alone.  hair needs to be nourished from the inside out to be "perfect".  expensive brand shampoos, conditioners, and hair creams may help but if hair is damaged, it needs to be restored using special hair vitamins and tonics.  hrt won't grow hair in people that have male pattern baldness either.  these people will need extensive and painful surgical techniques to grow hair in those areas.

Hrt will help to an extent BUT ony when in combination with vitamins C, b12, b6, biotin, A, E, D, Iron, enough protien, excersice, lowered stress, enough sleep, enough water AND not shampooing every day as that dries it out.

I been using minoxidil for about for four years now. It helped a little and It takes almost a half of year to work. Basically I got a lot of fuzz. It does seem to work better where you don't want it to. Stress is biggie for me I recently lost a patch of hair in the back left quarter of my head. I almost freak out but if I did that I would lose more hair. Since hrt I got bigger fuzz and just started dutasteride a month ago the stuff better work because it is expensive and could take up to a year to fully work. I do take vitamins. I swear my hair takes longer to grow actually I know it does. What I thought was kind of weird I have one hair all by itself where my old hair line was.

Perfect quality hair happens when one doesn't have any split ends and the hair has a lustrous, natural glow to it.. :P

I suffered from MPB at an early age, by the time I was 20 y/o I had a very noticeable bald spot
with only a few stray hairs left in that area and it only got larger with time. I am 35 now, I started HRT in october 07'
estrofem and spiro is my cocktail, anyway last week I said to my girlfriend that I feel little hairs where there was only
skin and showed her, her expression caught me by surprise, not only did she confirm what I felt up there, but she told
me that the hairs are completely covering the whole bald area. I am totally excited to say the least. The rest of my
hair is about 3 to 4 inches long and the new hairs are about 1/2 inch long. To have such a significant change in such
a short period of time seems like an HRT rule breaker to me (but I sure am not complaining). the only thing that I also
take is a protein shake (talk with your Doc about shake first if it contains potassium). So whether likely or not, is it
possible to regrow hair where there seems to be none? well it is happening to me. So due our individuality HRT must be
tried before it's effects on regrowing hair on an individual can be determined, because following the typical results of
credible information pages on this topic a person at my stage of hair loss and at my age should not be getting these
results. but nevertheless my hair is growing back.

I ordered F.A.S.T Nism Shampoo and Conditioner on amazon. People have claim that it grows your hair about 2 times faster and I also ordered Thicker Fuller Hair Serum which contains Protiens, vitamins, herbs and other good stuff. got it today in the mail and will see how it works out...

I'm also taking vitamins know to grow my hair...

As for the other topic brought up by me and commented by Audrey, i have to say that greece is not a paradise for transsexual people.Only someone with srs can find a normal job.The racism here is HUGE!!!!. I am a lawyer and everyday when my identity has to be shown for example in court, or to get some paperwork done for clients, people become rude. The good thing in Greece is that after srs your male birth records are deleted completely anf you are registered to the females one of the year you were born.So stealth is an easy option if you choose to.The only place one can dig your past is this Court desicion that changes your records(tricky):)
Anyway, me point Audrey( and i have to tell you i admire you for living alone  and being able to have a normal job) is that here, people like us if they don;t have the support of their family is VERY difficult to find a job, and end up in sex industy.Of course i have friends WHO love it, but it is a calm and quite life i am dreeming of.Ok .I Admit EVERYONE was an exageration. I would say 99%:)

I admit that your culture is probably far different than ours here in Montucky.  Actually all in all its not too bad here, and I am doing alright.  BF's are few and far between though.   :(

tbh i know a lot of women too with thin hair... or widdows peaks, and thier 20!
im blessed with thick hair, but some still comes out when showering or brushing... such is life, hair falls out and regrows, it cycles.... even natal women break hair and loose bits all the time...
