Is an Orgasm After Orchiectomy Possible?

I was told by my doctor that I would not be able to orgasm after an orchiectomy so I asked him why is it that after SRS most people can. He told me that it was because of the way that the nerves are redirected when a clitoris is formed. This makes no sense to me since those nerves are at the end of my penis to begin with. Is this true?

To give you a little background on myself, I had to stop estrogen after developing a DVT and cannot ever take any again. It's just too risky, even with blood thinners.

I was then put on high dosages of finasteride and spironolactone and was told that having an orgasm would be difficult, if not impossible.

At first I was unable to no matter how hard I tried, but with time it took me longer (a lot longer) but was and have been able to orgasm without any problems since.

So this brings me to my to very important question. Will this be the case if I get an orchiectomy? No orgasms at first and then being able to orgasm as time passes?

I can't stand the thought of never being able to orgasm, but without the surgery I'll never feminize as much as I can. I am stuck between a rock and a hard place. Have any of you gone through this? Many say they were having orgasms before their stitches even healed! Please help!

Thank you in advance.

Ella.

I believe that an orgasm should be possible if your testosterone levels after surgery are sufficient. CIS women who have difficulty with orgasms are sometimes put on a very low dose testosterone patch to bring there levels into the normal feminine range so treatment is available if you need it.  At these low levels, you most likely will require foreplay to prepare yourself for sex but that's true of those of us who are on blockers or have undergone surgery.

Your doctor is wrong.  I had an orchiectomy 13 years ago and was able to orgasm a week after surgery. It would have been sooner but the surgeon told me not to engage in sexual activity before that time. All these years later I continue to have an active sexual life with my husband and a few other partners, and orgasm is never a problem. When they last checked my testosterone it was at 13, which is very low. Of course I take estrogen, but there was a time when I went off it for a month or something and my sex drive was still there. Losing one's testicles and/or suppressing one's androgens might be a buzzkill for the typical cis man wanting to preserve male sexual function, but in my experience it does not hinder transwomen and in my case even made things better.

I'm confused about what you mean by orgasm. I am a non-op TS. I can still ejaculate as a male, but I prefer not to. However, I have always been able to enjoy, and actually depend for release on, orgasms that are similar to those enjoyed by cis women, but are occasioned by anal penetration. I personally know others who have the same experience. I am not speaking of prostate orgasms, which would be yet another route to fulfilment.

I was then put on high dosages of finasteride and spironaldactone and was told that having an orgasm would be difficult, if not impossible.

With an Orchi you will not need spiro or finasteride anymore since your testes will no longer be producing testosterone. Thus the need for these drugs will have been eliminated.  You still should be able to produce watery seaman but not with an erection and not nearly the volume of before. Basically the head of your penis becomes the stimulation component like the clitoris and not the shaft. Many regard this similar as when a woman gets wet. The resulting  excretion becomes a lubricant. Continuing to stimulate for 10 15 minutes should result in an orgasm more than likely dry or with a small excretion. I haven't had surgery and I don't have any plan to but having been on Spiro a long, long time I can attest to losing sex drive however the ability to orgasm remains. I can't explain the disconnect. In many ways it is much more rewarding and unlike my former male orgasm is repeatable multiple times. Sometimes it is better with visual stimulation. This has been my experience thus far. I am no way an expert.

Interesting, i have never taken finasteride but i am on a pretty high dose of spiro and can orgasm with enough effort every time. I produce very little ejaculate, just a small bit of clear fluid. "Lubrication" fluid though is perhaps even more than in the past.

When i inquired about an orchi recently my doctor said that orgasms are not an issue.

Maybe my pump is past it's prime. Get it?

I've been on spiro for a while, and my doctor just added finasteride about a week ago. The only thing I have noticed since starting the blockers and hormones is that my sex drive has decreased significantly. Before I needed a release daily, sometimes more than once. But now since starting hormones, I need it once a month, if that. As for orgasms, mine have gotten so intense that I have actually had a seizure. My ejaculate is less, but the orgasm is insane. But also orgasm doesn't have anything to do with whats between your legs, or lack thereof. There are more ways to achieve an orgasm than just typical masturbation. And just because you orgasm doesn't mean you will ejaculate. Nor does ejaculation mean you will orgasm. It's different from person to person, but there is, with a couple exceptions, little to no reason you shouldn't be able to achieve release.
