I know that this might be a bit of a more controversial issue, but idk where to ask. I'm trying to find out how I really know why I feel how I do in regards to dysphoria as well as some other possible issues and I'm not sure that I can do it alone. I want to find someone who can help me do so and offer advice and whatnot. Previous therapists/psychologists have been unhelpful in this regard. I live in Texas but I'd be fine with something like skype or whatever. If this question is inappropriate or unwanted I understand.

Someone else may be able to provide a therapist but I have been around so long that my therapist has retired. You would want to look for a gender therapist who has had experience treating transgender patients. We have some listed in our links section and there is another thread that I haven't been able to locate but if I find it, I will let you know. I have a couple of links that might be useful if you haven't seen them yet. The first is our WIKI . Because you might be a part of the non binary, that could make diagnosing you more difficult so learning about the non binary might help. The second is "the transition channel" which is more structured toward transsexualism but it's good for the basics. Let me know if I can provide any additional help.

Try this site.  I'm in Texas as well and used it to find my current therapist.  I found it on a Google search and used it to break down the categories to one that specializes with transgender.

Hope this helps.

A word of caution about the Psych Today doc find. There are way too many that state trans issues only because they once took a course where it was once mentioned. Be even more wary of those with trans issues and about everything else in the universe checked.

If the provider appears to be a lot more selective and focused in their practice, it one with whom you'll likely have a better chance of knowing something about GD.

A good approach is to first contact them to arrange a 10 Min or so call to feel them out on just how well versed they are with GD

Its hard to find a therapist who specializes in gender issues in my opinion.  Lots of them will say its a topic they specialize in, but when you show up they have no specialty in it at all or maybe took a class when going for their degree.  This is especially true on psychologytoday.com, where most list gender identity as an issue they specialize, but in fact its more an area they are willing to work with people on (but again they have no real knowledge of what they are doing.)

Unfortunately, those who do have some specialty in it are terrible at advertising their practices.  Keep searching.  Focus on their own individual websites.  If they discuss gender issues at in their website its more likely that they really mean they have experience working with these issues (psychologytoday.com is just checking off boxes, a custom made website with customized text more likely indicates a passion or at least a serious intent to help and work in those areas).
Sincerely,
Kassandra or Kass.
