Hello Everyone,

This is my first post; I just feel like telling someone the news but have no friends that know or would be my friend if they new so I am posting here.
I came out today for the first time ever to anyone; I told my doctor that I wanted transgender care and I could tell it was a big surprise to her, but after a short pause she handled it like it was no big deal and refereed me to the transgender specialist Dr. in the practice.
That is as far as I got, so having bad social anxiety atop everything else it was a major huge thing for to do and I still cannot believe I finally did it. It is such a relief to finally be heading in that direction.

Thanks for reading,
Lacy

Congratulations on the first step. The first one is the hardest but it gets easier the more you take. And welcome to the forums.

Welcome to Susan's Place. Coming out may be the most difficult step but there are others. I think the second most difficult step with be the first time you venture out the for as your true self. Don't worry about that now because if you have difficulty, there are plenty of us willing to help push you out the door.  ;D For now just enjoy the site and if you have any questions we can help you with, let us know.

Lacy, congratulations on this first giant step. As you'll come to discover, this path is made of milestones, each taking its own timing to maturity. Along the path, you will hopefully feel satisfied and happy, but at these milestones... well... you will truly rejoice and probably cry from so much hapiness! Starting HRT... Coming out to the people you know (outside your doctor)... Going out as the true woman you are... Eventually FFS... Eventually GRS... All these moments will be very special in your life. I wish you the most joyful blossoming you could possibly have!

Peace & Hugs, Sarah

It's  a huge step. I can relate to the social anxiety part. I had the same problem with my doc, and she was the second person to be told. I found it a little easier, to share this bit of news with my therapist ( totally new and on first visit since that was the point of my visit).

Congratulations! I can imagine that it was a really tough step for you.

Thank you all for your kind words.
I will keep the momentum and look forwards to letting myself out of this fake life I built around me.

Thank you all

Congratulations Lacy!

I just had my first GT session and obviously came out to her so I certainly know the excitement you're having.

Congrats Lacy!

It is an exciting time but can be terrifying as well.

After I told my endocrinologist, The first person I actually spoke to the words to, she recommended a therapist and that led to telling my wife.  It is a process!

Best wishes in your journey
Kelly
