Hi all, I am new to the forum. My name is Vaishnavi.
Just wanted to say Hi to everyone. I live in Dallas and originally from India.
Been on HRT since 2013. I was off and on until Jan 2016. I made a decision to transition fully in 2016, came out to my friends and eventually to my parents last November. Friends... they are supportive but I can see the distance growing. Parents... very conservative and traditional but they seem ok. I guess for parents, children are children no matter what. I am also out at work. It's a big relief internally. There's no secrecy and things are light. External problems multiplied but it's peaceful inside.

I got court order for the gender change few months ago in TX. I didn't expect it to go easy but it did. Thanks to my attorney Katie Sprinkle. And to Renee Baker for referral letter.

Getting FFS done with Dr Raphael in couple of weeks. Hoping for it to go well. My biggest challenge now is visiting my Parents in India 4 weeks after. I am terrified. We are over populated in India and literally not much space in Public. Cannot go unnoticed. But it's a beautiful country with rich spiritual culture. It's gonna be fun. Ok let me stop rambling on :-)

Hi to All and you all have a wonderful weekend!

Hello Vaishnavi, and welcome!

I am MTF and live in the Seattle area.  I have traveled quite a bit including international but have never been to India.  You are quite far along in your transition, sounds like you have done well with coming out to your family, friends and acquaintances.  I have heard India has a great and very unique culture, and has many different local customs and language dialects.  Quite a contrast to Dallas!

Best wishes for your FFS.  I cannot speak from personal experience on FFS but I had a minor procedure - blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) - and at four weeks I was visibly recovering and looked quite rough in that area.  At two months things finally started looking like a definite improvement, and at three months the improvement was great and I'm glad I had the procedure.

Glad you joined!  See you around.

Kendra
