I did earlier in my transition but I set them straight.

No I haven't. I'm too new at this but there's still plenty of time. I'm sure it will happen eventually and when it does I'll just consider the source and chalk it up to extreme ignorance.

To answer the question, I am tempted to answer "Not by any human."  >:-)  But, the true answer is that I have been lucky so far.

Yes. I was very androgynous before I transitioned.  People often had trouble telling what sex I actually was. I got called "it" a lot at school. If someone called me that now it would upset me but at the time it didn't bother me at all. To me being called "it" was still better than people referring to me as a male.

That news article is sad. It just shows how much total ignorance is out there.

Not yet but if I do I'll ask them if they want a balloon.

When they look at me weird, or weirder, I'll just say "We all float down here."

Yes, among other things. You really can't fix stupid... It is what it is. The rants of an ill informed person. It's never worth the trouble in a public setting.
At what point did my life go Looney Tunes? How did it happen? Who's to blame?... Batman, that's who. Batman! It's always been Batman! Ruining my life, spoiling my fun! >:-)

Yes. In the beginning I was called many things including "it". For me it was the worst of them all.
  •

JessicaSondelli

Yes, one of my old guy friends called me that a few times... I didn't tell him but I told his wife. I'm sure he didn't know how wrong this was...

Pugsleyatious ?

Please elaborate so i can avoid it lol.

And yes I was.

It was in response to my requesting not to be called a man. "What should I call you then it?"
I answered with I though that would be obvious.

Gave them a list of things to google, and said I might consider talking to them once they graduate.

Funny thing is, now they automatically call me she, they hate that they do, but its nice to see somebody experiencing the emotional distress being misunderstand causes me. Their discomfort at automatically correctly gendering me, is enough to forgive them for instantly purposefully slipping in the wrong one

No but I already know how I would respond. "I'd rather be an 'it' than someone low enough to call another person an 'it'."

Moni

I feel so unprepared, would  a Munster reference do?
If I ever offend you, let me know. It's not what I am about.

When very young, all the time. In one of the languages of my childhood all infants and young children are called "it" and everyone above a certain age is referred to as "he." There was no pronoun equivalent to the English "she."
