At my last GIC appointment i was told they would contact both me and my GP by post about HRT prescriptions. It's been four weeks, and I know the GIC is busy so it would take a while, but how long is too long? What if they only contacted the GP and not me?

I could phone the GP surgery and ask but I'm imagining a very vague conversation as I'm reluctant to discuss it specifically with the receptionist & they likely won't let me speak to the GP themself -- but I don't want to make an appointment if they haven't received the letter yet as that would waste everyone's time

As much as u don't want to discuss it with the receptionist they are bound by the same privacy rules as any staff in the surgery so I would just give them a call and ask them if it has arrived.

I can't comment on timing because the Australia system is completely different.

For me to reason any letters from the GIC it took me more than a month. I'd keep waiting if you really feel you need to know phone up the receptionist and ask.
They/them pronouns preferred.

I go to CX,  letters after appointments have typically taken between 6-8 weeks.  On the GIC website they state 10 weeks for letters. I have not a clue what they are doing all that time! Hang on in there. X

Yeah i guess it's probably just not been sent out yet... the GIC I go to has a smaller patient list that CHX & wait times aren't always as long as at others but that doesn't mean things are instant i suppose

I could try calling the clinic instead?

The letter to your GP and you will likely go out at the same time. You could try calling the clinic,  they may at least be able to confirm the current status of things. X
