My wife and I have started volunteering at a theatre group.  Theatre people are by reputation among the most accepting of trans folks, and I have found it to be that way.  This is the first group I have been in where no one knew me from before my transition, so they don't even know my dead name.

I signed up to do sound for one production, but I suspect they will ask me to do more.  The sound script is complicated, with more than 60 sound cues, so they are happy to have someone who has worked with sound before.

Yesterday and today, we were helping on set construction.  (Everyone, including the cast helps with this.)  Yesterday, there were three "big strong men" to do the heavy lifting, but I was the only person who knew how to use a cordless screwdriver properly.  Today, I was the only one able to do construction.  We built a pretty fine set if I do say so myself.

I only had to correct misgendering once.  I got a tricky piece assembled, and the guy helping me said admiringly, "You're a good man."  I said, "That would be 'good girl'."  Pretty harmless.

Here's a photo of me admiring our handiwork.  It's a terrible photo.  It's a crop from a long-distance shot, and I'm wearing guy clothes (jeans and a T-shirt that I saved for painting) and a ball cap instead of a wig.  What I like about the photo is that you can see that I have boobs!  Yay!
