Hi All,

I thought I would start an introduction as I have been reading this site for a while. I am Alan and I live in Canberra (Australia) and I am more of a cross-dresser than I M-to-F Trany. Not the starting the process of transition has not crossed my mind.

I live in skirts and dresses when at home and also I have started to wear skirts in public. It is funny that there are a lot of different sites on the web that deal with males wearing skirts however this site seams to cater for the Trany in me.

I had an interesting afternoon today as I went along to see about Perminent Hair removal through ELOS (basicaly Laser hair removal) to remove hair from the chest. I would love to have a more female figure and I was thinking that would be a great way to start. I also love to do anything feminine such as make-up etc.

The other interesting thing I have been reading from this web site is the use of Counsellers. I have been seing a counseller since late last year when I had trouble reconsiling my desire to wear skirts and having to be a guy arround my flat mate (the skirts won). I am not to sure if I will go much further but it is nice to talk to someone about my situation.

As I said before at this stage I am not to sure if I will go further then what I have already done. It had been a great jurney of discovery thus far and I am sure it will continue in the future.

Regards
Alan (TheBattler)

Hi Caroline,

It is nice to hear from someone who is not that far away from myself. It would be good to get to know you - I do not come to Sydney that often but when I do I will let you know. We all have our own battles and I am sure you will overcome your complex recent days.

Hello Alan,

Welcome to Susan's.  You will find that we have several members from Australia, in fact members from all over the world as we are truly an international community. As you have been reading this site for a while you must know your way around it.  Don't be afraid to ask for advice as we have plenty of knowledgeable members who probably have experience with issues that you may have.  Do participate where you can, and relax you are among friends :)

A quick note about the word you used "Trany"

That is generally used in a derogatory sense of the word.  Most prefer transgendered (tg) trans or transexual (ts)

Leigh, I think that's culturally relative, but worth pointing out that some find it offensive. Many do not.

I've heard "Trany" used to refer to transvestite.  That's probably why it's offensive to people who aren't transvestites.  "->-bleeped-<-" can be used to refer to the transmission on your car though.

Greetings, and Welcome!

This is just the place if you're looking for advice and support, Alan.  And there's the occasional spot of silliness now and then to keep it light, too.  The whole site has been a true benefit for me and I'm glad that I've found and explored it.

I hope you gain as much, and more, as I have from my association with the wonderful human beings on this forum and am again happy to say,

WELCOME!

Hi Alan,
I was very confused about myself when I first came here.
But the people here at Susan's have helped me on my journey of self discovery.
Take your time and explore this site. There is so much good information here and so many people willing to help. It's the best transgender site on the internet. So ask your questions. Will share our though with you.
:)

Hi Alan,

I too am from downunder and consider myself a crossdresser. So welcome to Susan's. I think that you will find that the WIKI will provide you with information to help with the terminology used in describing the various aspects of Tgism.

We are all here on a journey of self discovery here and your participation in the discussions here will help you on yours. So please feel free to join in and experience that which is the Susan's experience.
