Oh...peanut butter cups! I'm not a big candy person but I could scarf a whole bag of the little Christmas ones. Oh, and the peanut butter chocolate Easter eggs. Mmmm.  I'm gaining weight just thinking about them. Lol

Haha, same! They are my weakness. Most candies I don't care about at all, but the holiday peanut butter cups are just the best.

I really don't know anything about Harley Quinn and have only seen pictures of her. Hitting people with a giant hammer you say....this has possibilities. 😊

Maybe you would prefer the original Herle quin. The daughter of Woden. The Elf Kings Daughter (Erlkonigs tatter)? I think you look just like her without antlers of course. The Lady of Lothlorien also comes to mind.

I absolutely LOVE Halloween. Probably because I can take advantage of it and dress as myself and have fun without any judgment!! So are you planning to do the same this Halloween? What are you dressing up as?

I absolutely agree Dani!  I love Halloween!!
We are going to a party with my wife as Popeye and I'm Olive Oyl.  If I have miraculously boob growth by then I'll go as Marilyn Monroe in "Some like it Hot" and my wife do Tony Curtis in drag.

That's really cute.

Thanks! I didn't end up getting this one though  :-\

I have a secret FB group for me and some of my friends who know about my transition and I posted a few costumes and I asked for their advice and everyone liked this one more:
https://www.halloweencostumes.com/sock-hop-cutie-plus-size-womens-costume.html

My one friend made some good points, if it's cold I could wear tights and a sweater with this one and it would fit the costume! I like the waitress one better but I also kinda think I should stay away from anything food related seeing as how I used to really struggle with over eating, and I have some, uh, "friends" who are kinda jerks and I could see them trying to boss me around like a waitress all night or something like that, ew.

still a cute costume though! I have some black and white heels that will look cute with it!

Went to go buy that Harly Quinn pajamas....they didn't fit :icon_cry: :icon_cry2:

Oh well, maybe next time.  I still need to lose more weight anyway.

I will likely be working on Halloween.  I used to have a demon costume.  I tweaked it some, looks much better, and jumping out of the bushes at kids was fun too!  Now, I think my jumping days are over.  I'll find something cute to wear at work.  Can't be scary, might give a resident a heart attack, or cause a nervous breakdown.

I dressed up for a party last night!! If you wanna read about it I wrote about the experience in my HRT thread in the HRT section of the "Transitioning" forum :)

so while I was drunk at the party I did end up posting some pictures on facebook. I'm not out yet, i'm still presenting as male, but I've posted pics of me dressed as a woman for halloween before so I figured what the heck. this first picture got 41 reacts, 22 of which were "likes", 14 were "love", and unfortunately 5 were "haha". I got a few flattering comments too!

this one got 23 reactions, 12 were "likes" and 11 were "love"

this next pic only got one like, but I think it's because I forgot to post it with the initial set of pics, I just posted it in the comments, but this is my favorite one! These girls are 2 of my absolute best friends and have been so supportive of me, I really love them, but for some reason we always have a really hard time getting a good pic of the 3 of us, but I think this one turned out great!! Probably the best pic of the 3 of us lol

I'm going to another party next weekend and I think I'm gunna do a different costume  >:-)

Quote from: Steph2.0 on October 01, 2017, 08:08:59 AMAs for now, I completely agree with Kathy [concerning making a joke of our trans-ness]. In fact, I had to explain exactly that to my wife yesterday, in almost exactly the same words.

Well, I thought about it, and came to the conclusion that there's nothing wrong with portraying a female character as long as it's not meant as a caricature of who we really are. So I decided to go as a female airline captain. I found a costume on Amazon that wasn't one of those "sexy stewardess" outfits, but when I went to click the buy button, found out they didn't have any left in my size. So I went the official route. I bought an actual women's pilot shirt - button-down with pockets and tabs on the shoulders, and bought a set of four-bar epaulettes to go on them. I already had a black skirt, and I borrowed a real airline pilot's hat and tie (with official pilot's food stains on it from eating in the cockpit) and wings insignia from a major airline from a neighbor. With my aviator shades I was one bad-ass aviatrix.

Aaaaand, I won second place in the costume contest as Captain Sillyburger: "Fasten your seat belts, it's going to be a bumpy ride... and prepare for a water landing!"

I read that as blood stains at first and didn't realize my mistake for quite a bit. I was really wondering what exactly goes on in cockpits I don't know about.

I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you.

Also, it's my understanding that for women pilots the term is no longer "cockpit." It's "box office."

A Southwest Flight Attendant once told us, "For those of you who haven't been in a car since the 1950's, here's how you use a seatbelt."

Had a Southwest Attendant say there was smoking on the balcony. Needles to say, nobody took her up on it.

I am going out this year as a butterfly. I love what the butterfly represents, the transition from ugly caterpillar to beautiful butterfly.

LOL You fly Steph?? My father was a "Chief Pilot", in charge of the sorry lot!! Being mostly 'ex-military' they're always hungry, tell endless bad jokes, are cheap as 'ell driving junk commuter cars and tend to drink too much (hopefully off duty that is!)

An old 'flying' discussion here!! ( amazed most of the links still work! )

I was briefly a "PA FA" !!   Cheers

(ps edit: one of the links changed but still there!) Pan Am VA

Hi Kiera,

I've been flying since 1984, but at the opposite end of the spectrum from airliners. I flew ultralights until 2008, when the Sport Pilot license came along, and got my ticket then. Still flying small stuff, two seat experimentals. I also won't own anything someone else has built, and that includes factory stuff. I build 'em myself, so I know it's done right. As for the attributes you mention: yeah, hungry, bad jokes, and cheap, but not military, drive a decent car (Mini Cooper!) and don't drink, except occasionally something with an umbrella in it (also a Parrothead).

QuoteI was briefly a "PA FA" !!

Thanks for the Pan Am links. They were one of the greats. The Boeing 314 flying boat (or any flying boat) was the catalyst for when I built myself a two-place seaplane. There's also another Jimmy Buffett link there.

Oh, and the Halloween uniform isn't for Pan Am. I fly for TransWorld Airways. (See? Bad jokes!)

I generally like Halloween, however, no Halloween for me this year due to my class baking cookies for the day of the dead(I think this is our 4th catering event this semester, the culinary department has been very busy).

However, I will probably be invited by my brother's girlfriend's family to go hang out with them at one of the town's events that isn't on Halloween, to which I will probably just reuse last years costume, and be a bottle of sriracha again...

My dream costume would be to dress as Chloe from Life is Strange, mainly because I want an excuse to dye my hair blue again.
