This advice is so stupid.

The document was prepared by Dr. Richard Curtis of the London Gender Clinic and published by GIRES (Curtis, 2009) and is still widely distributed through various websites. Curtis runs the London Gender Clinic and is a general practitioner, not an endocrinologist, although his clinic does prescribe for MTF TS HT.

I'm not going into each of his points, it's this one in particular that makes me think he's just trolling. He's not serious:

If MTF TS want bigger breasts they should gain weight ("eat more pies").

The writer on that site already partially refuted it with the obvious:

Reason #16 Because of the adverse effects of weight gain on health, unless a person is very underweight, they should not be told that for bigger breasts "eat more pies".

But I will say this. It makes no sense to get bigger boobs if your entire body increases with it. Because proportionately they won't look any bigger. If anything it will make them look smaller as it's all about the illusion of the chest being ahead of the gut.  Common sense!

Actually, he is pretty much right on. Boobs and behind are the first place fat goes on a girl. Not that anyone should overeat to the point that it has a bad impact on their health. But if you want these parts of your body to fill out, the weight you gain will go their first. It gets harder when you get older because you don't need to eat as much. I don't want big boobs or a big behind so I watch my weight like a hawk. The doctors started me on hormones 8 years ago and I still look like a boy. YAY!

I choose to follow his advice because I want pie.

I think it works for some people - eating some fatty foods will fill up the fat cells in the breast area quickly before ending up on the rest of the body in those people. But some people will find it just goes on the butt, or the legs and they never get a large bust. Then there are some people who can eat a lot of junk and it never seems to touch them. I don't think it's great advice considering it will only work for a section of people.

Given the outrageously high rates of obesity worldwide and all the health problems that come along with it, this is dumb advise.  It isn't worth destroying your health.

Typically someone who's say, 200 pounds does not look like they have bigger boobs than someone who is say, 140. Even though they actually do in terms of raw size. Because it's about proportion. Optical illusion. Concepts that this guy doesn't understand. He argues against Progesterone therapy to this extent yet how many has progesterone actually killed? Compared to oh I don't know, the obesity epidemic? Eat more pies, get a blocky physique so they actually look smaller if anything, increase your risk of metabolic syndrome. What a quack. If transwomen wanted breast mass at the cost of the waistline and health all transwomen would just get fat before ever seeing a physician.

It'll also fill up their arteries.

Yep, telling people to eat fat isn't something I'd ever do unless they are severely underweight and shivering with cold because of it.

Doctor needs amend that stuff.

I am thinking some people are taking this too literally? it's the same idea as a person losing weight before they go on hormones to reduce their male pattern fattiness. When they go back to a normal diet the new fat goes to girly places. Or someone at a healthy weight putting on a few extra pounds to put curves in the right places. Not a suggestion that a person will they go from AA's to DD's by overeating. Or that anyone should overeat so much for so long that they get some weight related medical condition.

I was fat pre E, and I'm still fat. I've noticed that, anecodtally, I've had more breast growth than skinnier trans girls due to the higher fat content of my diet. They also seem proportionally larger for my frame, but that could just be wishful thinking on my part. In any case, I wouldn't recommend getting fatter to enjoy larger breasts, but if you're already fat, and don't want to change that, enjoy the benefits.

A few extra pounds can be very dangerous, especially to black and Indian populations who are genetically predisposed to heart disease and diabetes from overeating.
