Quote from: Kendra on November 19, 2017, 02:08:21 PMArrived in the mail. Or should I say female. Passport was most important. But receiving my updated driver license had an impact I wasn't anticipating... last night at dinner in a restaurant I glanced at it and almost burst into tears. Kinda sunk in, I've crossed the dividing line and everything else is just details.

Quote from: Kendra on November 19, 2017, 10:57:31 PMYes, tears of joy that I held back. Didn't want to dilute my drink (a glass of water). Passport Cards are common in several countries, US started offering them as an additional cost option. I use the card inside China and other countries where they recommend foreigners always carry their passport. Some international hotels require a passport for checkin, the card is good enough. For entering and leaving a country the full size passport is required.
Quote from: islandgirl on November 19, 2017, 08:45:02 PMCongrats Kendra! Getting the docs in order and actually having them in your hands is huge. I certainly remember the moments that I first held them. It was overwhelming! I am curious about the passport card! I have never heard of that before. We do not have that in Canada.
Quote from: Denise on November 20, 2017, 10:46:58 PMI'll add one thing to what Kendra had said about cards - to enter the US by ground you can use a card. But if you fly you need the full book. (I don't know why it's just one of those things.)
