Congrats Kendra! Getting the docs in order and actually having them in your hands is huge. I certainly remember the moments that I first held them. It was overwhelming! I am curious about the passport card! I have never heard of that before. We do not have that in Canada.

Arrived in the mail.  Or should I say female.

Passport was most important.  But receiving my updated driver license had an impact I wasn't anticipating... last night at dinner in a restaurant I glanced at it and almost burst into tears.  Kinda sunk in, I've crossed the dividing line and everything else is just details.

Yes, tears of joy that I held back.  Didn't want to dilute my drink (a glass of water).

Passport Cards are common in several countries, US started offering them as an additional cost option.  I use the card inside China and other countries where they recommend foreigners always carry their passport.  Some international hotels require a passport for checkin, the card is good enough.  For entering and leaving a country the full size passport is required.

For me, it was going to my therapist as Sarah. And boots!

Although with as much as that made me happy, needing to change back to go to work was tough. One day at a time, right?

Congratulations Sarah! Also, congrats on the lovely choice of names.  ;D
Yep, once you've had that taste of freedom, it's tough to go back. Hang in there!
Love the boots!

I'm glad getting out as Sarah was a positive experience, putting that person away after is hard though.

I'll second on those fab boots too. X

I am going to look into this when I get back home in the spring. I also would like to to see your group play. I will get back to you about that.

I had my first mental health appointment with my base counselor, this morning, and I'm about to embark on my TDY to Lackland in a couple of weeks. Getting closer and closer to new beginnings. *le sigh*

I'll add one thing to what Kendra had said about cards - to enter the US by ground you can use a card.  But if you fly you need the full book.  (I don't know why it's just one of those things.)

My sister left her makeup kit for me to play with while she's gone.  I'm learning its my makeup kit as nothing was used in it.  I did my eyes with it tonight and I didn't do a bad job.  Feeling proud of myself.

It's more of an "other way around" thing. The card is good for countries where you don't need a stamp; Canada, Mexico, the Carribbean islands excluding Cuba.

April 22, 2015, the day of my first face to face pass in gender neutral clothes and no makeup. It may be months to the next one, but I'm good with that!

Being transgender is just a phase. It hardly ever starts before conception and always ends promptly at death.

I was out shopping with my...wife, ex, close friend.  We got called over, "hey ladies" and then the sales pitch, and flirting from the salesman began.

The government are bringing out a new 26-30 railcard (in the UK). I'm currently 25 and my young persons (16-25) railcard runs out in January, so this will be handy for when I'm 26

Happy having accepting customers. I can just be Sarah all day long :-) And they even change my building access badge to reflect Sarah...

Contacted a local all-female chorus group (I was a church chorister for years before my voice broke), to see if they would consider me. Just heard back that they'd be happy for me to try out,  and they have female 'base' parts which might be perfect for me [emoji4]

Everywhere I've been today, women kept staring at me. I was thinking, "great, I keep getting clocked." Then one women, came up to me and said, "oh my god. I love your hair. I wish my hair could do that." I didn't have the heart to tell her it was a wig. I just said "thank you."
They weren't clocking me. They were admiring my hair.

(It's not the one in my photo. I don't have a picture of me in it yet.)
