Mine has remained consistent since 2006 when I was at university and being the fake alpha male. I guess deep down I was always caring.

A straight line may be the shortest distance between two points, but it is by no means the most interesting

You may have a point. I've always been an argumentative ENTP. Once a bitch, always a bitch, I suppose.

I tested as an ENFP when I was in college but that was 35 years ago.  I just took an online test and now I test as on the borderline for introversion/extroversion, and I test as a judger rather than a perceiver, but I think that is largely because of law school and 28 years of practicing law.  You have to make a lot of quick decisions and manage a lot of deadlines as a lawyer, and that seems to have changed me a bit.  But I am still an NF, and I seem to be awfully close to the INFP type that others say is commonest in the transgender community.

I just took this one and actually got INFP when as I said before I always get INTP. Redid another test and was still INTP. I think it's this specific test weighting something between the two differently.

I was very close on the F/T 51%/49%. Didn't save the results, but this was a test I took before. I remember the cartoon pics of the various personalities. I do still think identifying as trans made me more feeling. I think empathizing with many of the stories posted here and other trans sites had a lot to do with this.

Okay so I just took the linked test.  Still INTP.  This time with a -T.  Slight changes to previous tests in that I read as slightly less introverted and much more P than J, whereas before I was towing the line between those two.  I didn't really expect it to change, but I'm bored so I did it anyway.

Here's an interesting thing... https://www.careerplanner.com/MB2/TypeInPopulation.cfm

So while this is hardly a scientific study of course, and we are a skewed sample to begin with hanging out on an online forum taking random personality tests, we seem to be overwhelmingly consisting of rarer types, with the most common type having a frequency of zero in the sample at the moment. This means nothing, but it's anecdotally interesting.

I often do wonder if the introversion part is because I'm trans. I mean seriously, I went through a long period of self censoring my words and actions because when I didn't people said I was gay ...

Yes, cause or effect?
I seriously doubt if being an introvert can make you trans.  The best evidence suggests that we are born trans.

I can readily believe that being trans can make you an introvert.  It certainly made me want to shut my mouth and leave any large gathering of people.

It tells you the characteristics of your personality.  Look up INFJ for detailed descriptions.

For me, INFP, the descriptions seem pretty accurate.

I've never actually looked at these results until yesterday, I was surprised how accurate they were with me too.

Interesting.   A few years ago, I was a solid INTJ, hidden away in every sense.

Now, I get ENFJ-T, which sort of makes sense given that I have discovered my inner activist, and am spending more and more time doing lectures, presentations, and now media interviews [emoji5].

That's quite a change over the past few years.  I wonder what could have happened to do this?  [emoji56]

My personal transition path included medical changes.  The path others take may require no medical intervention, or different care.  We each find our own path. I provide these dates for the curious.

Just curious, is anyone else really coming in on the threshold on any categories?

In my boredom I've been playing with this test and some others the past few days, and found that I constantly jump between the T and J even within the same test with only a very minor variation in answers (a slightly different degree of agree/disagree, but consistent on whether or not it is agree or disagree to begin with). (I is always like 96% though, so that's amusing, heh. N always 80%+.)

Unfortunately, they do tend to have a very horoscope vibe though, with the descriptions general enough that multiple can apply to most people. Going with what I mentioned above, all 4 of the variations I've been seeing describe me accurately for instance.

My results are always pretty consistent.  I just took it to get a score and it was Introvert(88%)  iNtuitive(34%)  Feeling(9%)  Perceiving(12%).  I think I'm pretty evenly matched between INFP and INTP when I read the descriptions of each of the letters.  I imagine that in addition to whatever we may have been born with that lifetime training and experience also has an effect.  In my case an engineering degree and 20 years in the Army may have moved the F closer to T.

According to the linked test, ENFP-A (campaigner)

E:53%
N:55%
F:63%
P:69%
A:64%

I really think the result will depend on how one is feeling at the moment...

The head of the therapists' association to which I belong suggests that while perhaps statistically significant, tests like this should in principle be ignored when actually dealing with clients. The fact that people tend to be influenced by what they're told can often obstruct change.

Still, I think they are fun as long as one doesn't take them as absolute truth.

Lots of INFPs as usual.  The question is whether:
1. Being trans increases one's chance of being INFP?
2. INFPs are more likely to become trans?
3. Introverts are more likely to engage in Internet forums such as this since they find less enjoyment than extroverts in external social activities?

I voted ENTP because that's what I was tested as back in the 90's when I was a man and ran an engineering company and had a little boy and really acted the role as best I could. I have always been highly compensated on the E/I spectrum as I'm part artist and part engineer. It's def made easier for men to be E. Being socialized male I also tested T over F (that get's beat into you at engineering school). Borderline though now. I'm definitely IN(F/T)P with the F/T being more like a mode switch. That comes in handy; I can be sincerely empathic one minute and calculatingly logical the next. I agree that INFP and trans are related somehow.

I got INFP-T Mediator.

Answered lots of questions in the middle

Description says guided by principles rather than logic and practicality.  I'd say they are relatively equal.
