Hello,

I haven't posted here in a bit, but I've been ordering some good and inexpensive women's clothing, and so far I really like it.  I have to wear it in private, but anyways, I'm not sure if I should go on female hormones now.

I do want to go on hormones, but I'm so afraid of the possibility of it not turning out as I hope it will.  I want to be attractive as a female obviously; I want to fit the image that I have of the woman who represents myself in my head.

I just hate taking risks.  If this hormone therapy fails, then it will be disastrous because with many of the effects, there's no going back.

Also, as a side question, I've heard that taking female hormones reduces the size of the brain towards female proportions...is this true?  I don't want a smaller brain, lol...(And I'm not at all implying that women aren't smart, either)

Brain size is irrelevant else elephants would be smarter than humans.

I've never heard that the brain changes size anyway.  I expect that it will remain proportional to the volume of your skull and not change at all.

You are the only one who can decide if HRT is right for you. We have members who decided to try HRT for a month or two and see if they liked it. Often they come back and say all doubt is gone and they aren't going to quit HRT. Just remember that HRT isn't a life time commitment and if it's wrong for you, stopping is permitted.

As for the brain, I have never heard that but consider doing two things at once as opposed to doing one thing at a time. You will do a better job if you aren't distracted from a task by a second task. For years you have been dealing with dysphoria while living life. Consider the things you will do better if dysphoria is constantly entering your thoughts.

So it's possible that I could try hormone therapy for like two months, and see if I like it or not?

In a two-month period, what changes will I see?

Mental changes (many and varied - I personally like those the best)
Skin will be softer and drier
Hair will be a bit healthier
You will lose a bit of strength
Fat will begin to redistribute
You may or may not get breast buds (These are permanent)
Penis and testicles will get smaller. Stay on it for more than three months and you run the chance of being sterile.

Most of that is easily reversible. The breasts? err live with them or get em cut off I suppose. Its not a decision to take lightly.
Every day is a totally awesome day
Every day provides opportunities and challenges
Every challenge leads to an opportunity
Every fear faced leads to one more strength
Every strength leads to greater success
Success leads to self esteem
Self Esteem leads to happiness.
Cherish every day.
