Pre-surgery meeting was 90 minutes, half of that with Dr. Ley.  She went over everything in detail, answered every question I had, never felt rushed.  Before seeing Dr. Ley I was handed a "goodie bag", I checked and it weighs more than 9 pounds (4 kilograms).

I am getting two procedures tomorrow - in addition to GCS I want a teeny amount of stomach fat removed, liposuction.  I figure might as well during the remodel.  Total time for surgeries is estimated at 6 hours.

I'm good to go for tomorrow!

Smile smile smile!!!! I'm smiling with you!

Stephanie

Wheee!  Ah, the "goodie bag". Didja unroll that lumpy white bundle at the upper left yet?  You'll become more familiar with that in a week or so. [emoji6]

It's exciting and tummy-butterfly making, I know. I'm happy for you, and know you are in a good place.

May you be well.

My personal transition path included medical changes.  The path others take may require no medical intervention, or different care.  We each find our own path. I provide these dates for the curious.

I was offline much of today because I drove from Scottsdale Arizona to Mexico and back.  Nice drive, saw an area I hadn't seen before.  At the US side I parked the rental car, walked across the border.  The walkway to Mexico was obviously a border but nobody asked to see my passport - I went through a second gate expecting to be asked a few questions and was surprised to discover I was already past the border and was now wandering around Nogales.  Lots of pharmacies, dentists, and more pharmacies.  I didn't take a very good picture of the area but here is Nogales on a nice 70 degree Fahrenheit (21c) January day:

I walked back to the US side where they had a formal customs/border line as expected.  When it was my turn I handed the border agent my passport.  He looked at it, handed it back and said "okay" in a polite tone and that was all.  No questions.  I guess I don't look very threatening in a pink shirt and white pants.  Wish I could have spent more time in Mexico but I needed to pick my boyfriend Saha up at Phoenix airport, I made it there right after he landed.  My girlfriend Beth (she is Saha's wife) arrives tomorrow evening.

After reading Michelle's post I decided it was time to look at the dilators.  I assumed they were in random washcloths to keep things tidy but I was wrong - it's a nice terrycloth holder designed for the set of five.  I was surprised to find the dilators are transparent and actually quite beautiful.

And thank you all for the comments and support - this place really is an amazing group of individuals as we each support each other.  My first surgery is a few hours from now.

"Remodel"  lol  ;D  I've been referring to it as "upcycling" but I might have to steal your line.

Good luck today!

For whatever reason some of the images were not displaying well even though they did show when using tapatalk. I have since updated the links coding so they now display properly regardless of how one is viewing the site. Hugs
