I stayed in both - the old Jennys Nest and the Aldea. I liked both, actually but found Aldea was overpriced - no free drinks outside the mealtimes and high prices for the drinks in the minibar - including water. Its far outside the town and one needed Taxi to go everywhere including a supermarket to buy water supply or snacks. I did like the food they have - great kitchen and they have a nice pool and comfortable beds with electric adjustments, private balcony to sit on and buttons to call a nurse that is trained in post OP care. But it was a bit lonely - most other people there had other surgeries or health issues - few FFS patients.
Jennys was more community-like - one immediately met a few other present or former FFS patients or their relatives. Jenny was nice and caring and does the post OP care and organize trips to the mall, supermarket, downtown for restaurants. There was a kitchen and I think usually you are sort of expected to cooc for yourself or come together with the others to cook. There was a small pool as well, a nice shared terrace. The rooms of course were a bit smaller and less luxurious than in Aldea. For some it was seen as a benefit that its all about trans women - so if one likes the trans community aspect, this was probably a better choice.
Overall I would have said Jennys is more like a Bed and Breakfast or Hostel with nice people and Aldea is more the five star hotel with full board but not much warmth.
Originally both were rather expensive. I was quoted roughly 2000 EU for both places, Jenny was a bit cheaper, Aldea a bit more expensive, but that was explainable with the difference in the food supply.
Now things did change a bit. First Jenny went down with pricing as she had to move to the appartment instead of the villa, then Aldea also went down in price. Jenny has downsized, so I dont know how many people one will likely meet other than Jenny and Nicola, they still have a pool and are near downtown now. Aldea has now set up a shuttle service to Marbella so one does not need a Taxi anymore to get out of the place, and they set up a Facialteam meeting table for mealtimes, yo you get in contact with other FFS patients and trans people if you like.
I booked with Jenny last fall before the switch to the appartment, so I can only hope that the appartment is nice as well. It seems significantly downsized as the rooms have no distinctly separate bathrooms but its hared bathrooms or one can get a private bathroom but has to go out of the room to get there. So its a bit less private than the villa. I convinced Jenny to get a bigger bed with electric adjustment motors though, because one has to sleep in an elevated head position post OP. Main reason for me to book with her was that I was afraid a bit of being lonely in Aldea, as I am not a very outgoing person and I may be prone to post OP depression, so I would like to have someone around to talk to. So her care is more personal and its probably "warmer" to be there , while the Aldea is more distanced but "professional".
I dont think its so bad that there are two options now, although I feel most people now choose Aldea or some other hotel, also because FT has cut out any reference to Jenny in their brochures. This seems to go back to some disagreement they both had last summer over how Jenny and her Nest would work with FT in the future. Details of that disagreement are hard to get though, but it seems that it turned a bit ugly
