My working at the hospital was to supplement my GI Bill while attending college.  Initially, I worked security at the hospital covering the psych and detox units.  After I was hit by that patient I said screw this macho stuff and told a higher paying job in Admissions - my handwriting has always sucked because my brain works faster than my hand, but typing 70-80 words back in the olden days when they had manual typewriters :)

Well, I got a perfect score on my map of Eastern & Southern Africa in Geography and one of my friends called me by my preferred name. But the day's not over yet, so I'm sure something bad could happen still. I'm staying optimistic though.

I got ma'am-ed today.

That's cool and awesome and would make me really gleeful normally.  But I was dressed as a guy and I've got two days of beard growth (getting ready for electrolysis).

Soooo

Went to get something notarized and the lady who did it said she liked my hair.

The thing I got notarized was my Petition For Name Change, which I then filed with the clerk of courts.  Should learn the date next week

Two things!!! #1... weighed myself. I expected to be static with last weigh in around the start of HRT. Instead... I LOST 10 WHOLE POUNDS. Even accounting for a high reading before and a low reading now, that's at least a good 5-6 pounds probably actually lost in about a month and a half. That is the perfect rate. And I have been eating a lot. I think its the desk bike, this thing is awesome.

#2... Well, I mentioned talking to an old friend of mine a week or two ago, and he has a slack setup for people to hang out in and coordinate gaming and stuff. When I first logged into it, I used male name just because im used to hiding behind it. Well, today I worked up the courage to say screw it, and changed name there.

I came out to my brother and sister in law tonight. That concludes all of my immediate family (mom, dad - I use that term loosely, brother, sister in law). I'm feeling a lot more sure that I'm making the right choice choosing to transition (eventually), telling my friends will be easier than it was telling my family

Awesome! I did mine similarly. Wife first, then mom, dad, then everybody on FB. I'm still coming out to new friends. Kinda tough to have to do it constantly.
Be your own master, not the slave to illusion;
The lord of your own life, not the servant to falsities;
Only then will you realize your true potential and shake off the burdens of your fears and doubts.

Yeah, it is a little deflating - you've made a big step coming out to someone, now there's someone else you have to come out to.

I feel like once I tell my friends and people at work (that won't happen for a while), I'll then announce it on social media - I don't even think I'll announce it, I'll just change my name, gender and profile picture

Two things for me. I bought my first pair of hoop earrings at a second hand store for 50 cents :)

And I had a long heart-to-heart conversation with my sister about my unfolding transition. She was such a great listener, so supportive, and so accepting. She even showed me a new concealer I might like!

My friend I reconnected with is just being really great, introduced me to another friend of his who just went through the whole gamut of transition. Though I'm still struggling a bit letting girl out and not trying to be one of the guys again, falling into old habits around him since I've known him for so long in that role. But he's been truly sweet about everything.

Fleece Leggings!

I went to the Costco store in Las Vegas to sign up in the hope of getting better deals.  They didn't open until 10am so I stopped at a Walgreen's.  While at Walgreen's I noticed they had fleece leggins that were being discontinued for a reduced price of $2.99.  I bought two pair,one for me and one for my daughter.

It turns out that the first pair were $2.99 and second half price so basically $2.25/each.  I ended up going to another Walgreen's and they had them too.  Got the large - extra large size but according to their "( )" the size went from 14 - 16.  Oh well, worst case scenario, daughter gets them all.  turns out they fit so went to another store and bought all the l-xl sizes :).

Also, switched from pills to patch late yesterday afternoon and spiro was increased.  I swear I felt as if I was high or drunk.  Good feeling though.

And lastly, my ticker should reflect one month on HRT :)

Cassi,
