I don't actually work, sometimes i translate stuff to get some cash, but most of the time I'm at home cleaning, cooking and stuff, my dear really appreciates it so it isn't annoying to be home.

I'd like to echo what someone said about some big companies.  I work for a large healthcare company and they are rated highly in LBGT, their health coverage even covers SRS, FFS, HRT etc.

I work in the IT department supporting the network infrastructure.

WOW. Some of you may have made these observations before but I can't believe the amount of trans people that have military experience AND are in IT related fields. I wonder if that's a direct correlation or just a numbers coincidence.
I, myself am ex military and took my education in IT. I don't work in that field at the moment but maybe its a good time to re-wet my skills for future employment, lol.

I have to say that the small health  care  company that I work for was extremely accommodating. Our benifits  have the transgender  exclusion  but other than that my management  team has and most of my co worker have been great and caring and treat me with respect. I was scared  before but it got so much easier

I've been transitioning since 17, work in the adult entertainment industry and am a business administration student.

There seem to be a higher number of military or vetern TG than the larger population.  I have heard some speculation it is due to  our need to "prove" our masculinity or its inverse, hide from our true selves.  You pick.
Me, I did 6.5 years floating boats in the USN.  No wartime stuff unless you consider being on a wooden ship when it broke in a storm as a war.  It was actually a ship of the fleet.
Someone earlier posted on getting promoted faster due to Vietnam.  I am the tail end of Vietnam but no threat of going in country and I rose pretty fast.  After boot camp was an E4.  5.5 years later was E6.  Just dfid not get caught and passed their tests. 

My previous company, Thermo Fisher Scientific, in the biotech, medical device, and pharmaceutical industries is one of the most trans friendly companies I've ever experienced. It's the main reason why I joined them after grad school. I started out of grad school as a Project Manager for them.

I work for a company now that offered me a better opportunity, but it was a very amicable parting. I find that a lot of the companies in the sector though are overall very similar.

Agreed, I work in that sort of field as well.  My benefits are great but the workload is brutal.

I have worked in a variety of fields, but my true calling is entertainment; there's a local acting school that I am going to start soon; they have a really great program; the first step is level 1 for beginners, next is level 2, then American method acting. They also offer Shakespear, improv, and movement for actors.
