So I'm considering going on HTR for M2F. I was curious with the hormones how much does your face change, and does your body hair change at all? Currently I hate that even if I shave my legs, there is like the stubs still leaving a shadow and some of my skin gets bumpy. More importantly though what if any changes happened to your face?

Everyone responds differently to HRT. In general, you may see a decrease in body hair and a change in color. As for the face, most see some softening of the skin, so you should see some more "glow" to your face. You won't see any beard issues change dramatically in my experience.

As far as the legs, it's possible you might see some color and density change. But more likely, just like cis women, you will have leg hair that is dark and shaving will get the bumps and such. Cis women's leg hair issues are a billion dollar industry.  :icon_chick:

I am only on HRT for three months and my face complexion looking better. My Acne problem had been cleared up and I shaved less. That as far I can tell after three months

There is no way to tell what changes will occur in the face. Everyone's genetics are different , age plays a big part also but not always. If you are late teens or early 20's there should be great results. I'm 51 in the last 10 months on HRT my facial features have softened a little bit, my face is definitely filled out some but I will need some FFS. some others in the 50's have better results some less so.
The body hair growth will slow down and in some places my disappear . But all of it takes time

I wish you the best

As everyone says, your mileage may vary.  I have noticed a lot of change in my face.  Here are before and after shots of me.

I noticed a big difference too.  Here is 3 months HRT and 3 years HRT.  Sorry for not brushing my hair first, LOL.

I've been on HRT for a little over a year.  I haven't noticed much changes to my face.  I sure there is but I don't really see anything.

My body hair did change a lot.  I wasn't very hairy but legs and arms it is a lot lighter.  I don't have to shave my legs very often and I no longer have those bumps.  Face it doesn't help but I'm been doing laser and Electrolysis for a while before I started on HRT.

Two areas that changed where I noticed is butt and breast.  My breast aren't that big yet, but you can differently tell.

But as they tell you, everyone is different.

Good luck on your journey.  Julie :)

I have a related question for mtf people on hrt, after you wax, pluck or shave do the poor get smaller/disappear? Is this gradual or does it happen when body (or facial) hair no longer grows there?

I've been epilating but I see the pores... it's annoying like on my chest.

My body hair has thinned out quite a bit on my chest, probably around 90%. The hair on my arms has gotten much lighter and thinned by at least 50%. The rest of my body hair has thinned out by maybe 30%, which is not nearly enough for me. Facial hair is not usually affected much by HRT, other than a possible slow down in growth. I am doing laser treatments for my back, legs, and stomach. For my facial hair I am doing both laser and electrolysis.

I think my face has changed some, but it can be hard to tell. A year of HRT has moved me firmly from a general state of grumpiness to one of happiness. The biggest facial change I am aware of is my constant smile. The photo on the left is from Feb 2017, the one on the right is March 2018.

As far as body hair goes mine was fairly sparse before HRT.  I never had any back hair and only a little on the chest.  Now the chest hair is virtually disappeared.  What is left (very little) is light, virtually invisible, and extremely slow growing.  My leg hair is the same.  Even if I let it grow for a few months it's sparse and not visible except from very close in the right reflected light.  My arm hair also got lighter and more sparse.

My face hair I did myself with an IPL light.  That took care of the dark hairs.  What is left still grows but leaves no real shadow.  What is there disappears under a light brushing of powder.

Body hair will reduce, the only way to get rid of beard hair is electro or laser. I have two photos one from about 4 years ago, another after 6 months on hrt (with lots of lasering...). I weigh about the same in both photos.

With makeup on? once every 24 hours maybe if I don't want to be called sir. If I let it grow you'd see stubble (rather than feel) at about 2 days.

A LOT! I started in 2004 and within a few years, the change was DRAMATIC. Within months, I couldn't pass as a guy anymore. Take a pic before HRT and 3,6, 12 months after. You'll see...

Quoteand does your body hair change at all?

YES. Lower legs, buttocks, especially and the rest becomes thinner, lighter. Give it a 1-2 yrs. ;)

QuoteI hate that even if I shave my legs, there is like the stubs still leaving a shadow and some of my skin gets bumpy.

I still get that where hair is coarser (i.e. bikini). Waxing helps or electrolysis (what I'm currently doing). Getting really good results. :)

QuoteMore importantly though what if any changes happened to your face?

Plumpier, rounder, fattier. :) I have always been on high doses of estrogen so that may have perhaps helped too.
I am not a medical doctor, nor a scientist - opinions expressed by me on the subject of HRT are merely based on my own review of some of the scientific literature over the last decade or so, on anecdotal evidence from women in various discussion forums that I have come across, and my personal experience

HRT changed my complexion.  My cheeks also got a little more plump.

It will not change the underlying bony structures, nor will it stop current beard growth.  To address those issues will take facial surgery and electrolysis/laser, respectively.
What you look forward to has already come, but you do not recognize it.

Thank you all for your answers, I am very scared and excited. I gotta talk with my current partner which might be the end of my longest and most loving relationship so that is very scary to think about but I am also very excited to start hrt. I do notice the changes in yalls faces. I know that it won't change the bone structure but I feel that with just a little more roundness my face will be a lot more pasaable.

I guess I'm late to the party, but I just posted some face pictures.

https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,235945.0.html

My body hair has gotten much thinner, my back hair has basically disappeared. I was forming a widows peak, and it's slowly regrowing (a lot more on one side than the other)

I've posted on this topic a couple times in the past. HRT is definitely different for everyone. I was hoping for changes divided overall. I hoped for good changes to my face but after 2 years I have almost no changes there. Over eighty percent of my changes has been in breasts. I went from flat to full C-cups today. Really nice and sensual now for my chest, but now I am a dude with boobs -- very noticeable I am afraid. They have become quite heavy and very bouncy in recent weeks. In the last few months I have developed a nice figure, especially hip growth (lots of fat there now). Skin softness started almost from the start, and I haven't smelled like a man in all this time. But seriously, I had hoped that my changes would have spread out more evenly. But the Boob Fairy says, "Nope, boobs it will be for you!"  :D
