I am 50 yrs old and started crossdressing at the age of 3. I remember my babysitter and daughters that would let me play with their toys and clothes. The thing I remember most was the stockings I put on at that age and how good they felt on my legs. As the years progressed ofcourse along came pantyhose and I would sneak and put my mother's on in the bathroom when she had them hanging to dry. Today's pantyhose just does not have the same feeling as back in the 60's and I was wondering if anyone knew where they might be available and what other brands you like. ::)

Hi! The pantyhose sold at Sears used to resemble those that my mother had. I haven't recently bought any from Sears, but perhaps you might try them. Hope this helps!

Do women even wear pantyhose anymore?  I haven't seen them "on the streets" for years.  I haven't worn them for so long that I can't remember.

Maybe it's just where I live.

i prefer stockings to pantyhose because they are more sheer and attractive, and I never understood the reason for the panty in pantyhose. it just gets in the way of a lot of normal activities, where stockings do not. hosiery is to cover your legs and feet in atractive sheer nylons, not to act as a chastity belt on your most private parts.

Thanks everyone, I am just an old-fashioned girl. I think the legs look better when covered. Alot of the girls (mtf & gg) look awful with just bare legs. Maybe it is just me but the hose whether pantyhose or stockings give the girl a more seductive and attractive look to me. The added advantage to either is the silkiness they give your legs.  :)

I think that men might appreciate the silky covered leg more than women do ;)

They are hot, uncomfortable, expensive, and don't last.  Really, what's in it for us other than to look good for the men?

After shaving my legs, I've found that wearing nylons actually helps keep them warm now. I never realized how much heat my leg hair kept.

Trikki Rikki

But Cindi isn't that the whole idea to get noticed by men?

From my experience, men don't care all that much whether you wear hose or not. They are more concerned about making it to the finish line.

I think that we care more about hose because it so well delineates the differences between men and women. The same goes for longer hair, lack of facial hair, skirts, makeup, and heels.  We want to be like women so we are so attracted to those things deemed female, sometimes going overboard, so that we can "be" women.

Sometimes, our fetishes absorb these articles.  They become sexually stimulating.  I'm not saying that it is right or wrong, good or bad.  I'm just saying that for us, they become more important than they do to other members of our society.

I do as well Trikki. ;)  I just don't do it all that often because I'm seldom in a situation where dressing up is appropriate.  When I perform, I dress up nicely. But most of my life is spent in this farm town where everyone dresses very casually.

I like Dancskin tights.  Almost bulletproof, and very warm.  Other than that, I get a lot of sun, and walk on a constant basis, my legs look good.
FIGHT APATHY!, or don't...

I like the feel of thigh highs from Nordstrom...they are silky, get great guy looks, and make me feel free!

Very good point there Natasha about how hosiery is to cover your legs and feet in attractive sheer nylons, not to act as a chastity belt on your most private parts and yes they are more sheer and attractive.  But sometimes when you're wearing nothing underneath, you need some protection, and that is why I think that they added the pantyliner to pantyhose, but sometimes I do prefer sheer from toe to waist.

One thing that I have found as an adavntage with weraing pantyhose, is that it does protect me better from chaffing, but my favorite brands are:
L'eggs, No Nonsense and Just My Size  and as for tones, I like suntan, off black and beige.

I like leggs suntan  Q-plus i think they have more of a lycra or spandex feel than the leggs-just my size.I also like Burlington day sheer(wild rice color) similar too suntan,I don't like the ultra sheer.I have worn ultra sheers though with kaki shorts when i was out as a guy they were so sheer i don't think anyone really even knew i had them on.But i like the darker suntan colors with some thing say a black dress or a black skirt.

I really don't favor pantyhose with Lycra that much. I like my legs to breathe, and I find that the ones with too much Lycra are like a second skin. I really do prefer pantyhose that are more sheer, but not too sheer that the guys can't even tell that I'm wearing pantyhose or not.

myslef it depeneds on what iam doing and my mood at the time . like  in the day i might wear body stockings

or pantyhose or stocking,s  it just mainly depends on my mood. as far as brands go tho i mostly wear leg,s

or Wolford,s or hains  or no nonsense. as well as a few other brands

When I wear a skirt or a dress I just do not feel completely dressed unless I wear pantyhose.  With slacks I wear either knee highs or trouser socks.  The only time I go bare legged is when I wear shorts.  I am in my 60's.  Younger women can go bare legged more easily than us older gals.

Pantyhose may be uncomfortable and hot when the weather is warm, but I do not think they are any more uncomfortable than wearing long pants, a long sleeved shirt, and a jacket and tie in the summer.  That is pure torture.  Fortunately in my current job I can dress casually for most of the summer.

I prefer Leggs Sheer Energy Panty Hose. They give me lots of support for my tired leg veins and hold my belly in a bit.

I like the No Nonsense Silk Indulgence pantyhose. I am a big gal but the size D fits well, and they are sheer and cool in the summertime.
