Hi all, just a quick background on me, I'm 30 years old, transitioned 12 years ago and post op 7 years ago. I currently have been living in Japan for 2 years but recently ran out of my supply of Estradiol Valerate, until I visit the U.K. again in August where I can get some more from my GP after a blood test (bending the rules a bit, but I do have a U.K. registered address).

I do have hormones that I currently have and can get a prescription for in Japan, but unfortunately the country only uses Premarin for HRT. I hear many negative things about Premarin such as being taxing on the liver and potential other risks.

My question is whether Premarin is that bad long term, and whether other risks such as blood clotting are also higher? If this is clearly the case, I'll try and get a supply of Estradiol Valerate again, which I need to return to the U.K. for (although I visit the U.K. twice a year anyway). Apart from the GP (which is bending the rules) is there any other way to quickly obtain Estradiol Valerate more quickly via a private route? FYI my U.K. base is London.

I know for a fact that HRT cannot be imported into Japan, as it will be destroyed on delivery, however there is no issue to bringing it in a suitcase as a passenger.

Many thanks in advance! If Premarin isn't that bad then it's administratively easier to stay on that, but if the risks are significant, then it may justify pursuing other options.
It takes balls to go through SRS!

I think HRT can be imported however it requires filling out a bunch of paper work and it takes time. I am not sure about this but I think Arch discussed this sometime in the past.

As for Premarin, I was on it for 20 year and it didn't cause any problems. My preference is for Estradiol as it seems to be far more effective at a lower dose than Premarin was. After I switched to Estradiol, I started developing again with itchy boobs that I never hand on Premarin.

I stand corrected. It was Ayden and one of the posts is here. I think there was another one but I haven't found it yet.
