Hello all, I'm curious to know how HRT affected the hair on your scalp. I've been on low dose E for almost 2 months now and have as of 2 days ago started low dose cyproterone acetate. My main issue is the hairline which still seems to be receding. How has HRT been for you and is there a real possibility that HRT will not help my situation? I have been on propecia for over a year which has not helped as I am still balding.
If anyone is interested I am almost 21and I identify as non binary and would love to have characteristics of both male and female with hair obviously being a big one for appearing female.
Thanks! :)

It's somewhat filling in my M hairline that started receding 4 or 5 years ago... I still keep it covered and may opt for hair grafts if it doesn't fill out fully because when I pull my hair back, it's still a very masculine hairline sadly [emoji17]

Oh and I've been on estrodial and spiro prescribed by my 2 doctors for 6 months.

I've seen my temples fill in and my thinning hair has filled in a bit in the crown... I wasn't bad, but it is better.... Seeing a lot more gray, though. A fair trade! Of course ymmv.

[/Thank you very much for the reply :) Its good to see you are finding your hair loss is reversing! How long did it take for you to nice the hair growing back?
Also if that is you in your pic you're looking great and seem to be passing ( at least for me ) well!]

That's excellent news Tommi hope it continues to improve! May I ask what it is you are currently taking? ( besides estrogen )

Zoladex(goseleran) as a gonad inhibitor, and delestrogen shots. Blocking the t started this process before my e levels started rising

My hairdresser has mentioned that I'm getting new hair as we go, and that's at 56.

I'm non-binary, too, and  rocking the boygirl. Obviously we don't want to share the secret unicorn handshake in front of everyone, but I'm sure you're a card carrying member of the club. 8)

Hugs, Devlyn

I would say around the 3 month mark I noticed blond (ish) vellus hairs growing there and just more recently at 5 or 6 months it seemed they became baby hairs. But again it's not 100% restored for me. Everyone is different. I'm 27 and my hairline started receding in the M shape since I was around 22 or 23. Maybe even earlier.

And thanks! This pic is a good angle I would say... lol it's a wig since my hair is much shorter right now and barely past my ears. I think hair length is a major factor in passing generally speaking but I'm not sure (yet, will see in the future hopefully and adjust accordingly [emoji4]).

Hehe its refreshing to hear from someone else in my situation. I'm surprised at how many people here have reported positive hair changes with HRT so quickly! A breath of fresh air lol. I will keep an eye on my progress and see how things go.
Much love to you all and keep being you! <3

I started with quite a large very thin patch on top and a small amount of receding at the front, I was prescribed finasteride before HRT I took that on its own for about 3 months, then I started estrodiol, and cyproterone acetate, took that for two months and had not noticed any significant changes to hair growth, I then started using minoxidil and after two months I have seen significant regrowth. I think the combination I'm on has done the trick for me, but I guess everyone reacts differently, or the sequence of medications was just right, I'm not sure. Hope this helps
