Talking to a good therapist is quite easy after the initial fear. Remember that they have heard it all before, almost word for word. It's a bit like being on the Forum and reading the posts of others and you go, 'Wow that's how I feel!'
So try and relax, tell them what name you wish to be referred to and be honest. You will probably feel very relaxed and relieved afterwards.
I occasionally catch up with my ex therapist for a coffee and chat, I know her family and she knows mine and we are now friends who can talk to each other as only friends who have shared secrets can. We no longer have a clinical relationship.
