Changes in pants fit and time on T?

Concerning fat and muscle redistribution, how has the way pants fit you changed since you started T? How long until you noticed changes? And did you work out?

So obviously straight leg jeans are the power move in erasing a feminine silhouette... but has anyone found the weight around the hips shift significantly enough to start rocking other skinnier/tapered cuts of jeans? Or have you found that having wider hips, even after major fat/muscle redistribution, always requires careful shopping in the pants department?

I am in tears over all the wicked jeans that would fit me Only If... and there's a devil on my shoulder telling me to buy them because I'll never find them anywhere else and they might fit me after some unknown period of time.  ???

Right now, I have to get a waist that is too large to get pants over my hips if they are anything other than straight leg.

I'm transitioning to rock star, and all the pants that catch my eye are one-off, tie-dye, splatterpaint jeans with crazy buttons everywhere.  >:-) The kind of jeans I used to wear all the time as a girl... before I decided I had to get rid of them all and "learn to be a girl."  >:(

I"m going to try and answer your question as best as I can, so bear with me, okay?

Since going on T, I've noticed that the fat I used to have on my thighs have mostly disappeared.  Because I could do to lose some weight, I still have some thigh fat, but not nearly as much as I did before I started transitioning.  The same pretty much goes for my hips and waist, I've lost some fat in those places as well.

About how jeans fit, I now buy only mens jeans, so I don't know how womens jeans fit.  I DO have one pair of women's jeans left, but they were always too large on my hips, and they still are.  If I was put on my mens jeans and look in the mirror, I'd say that my body's definitely more masculine since going on T.  I wear mostly skinny jeans, so yeah, they're nice and tight when I wear them, even though I get them in my size.  My hips might have made some of a difference, but being African-American, I also have a bubble butt, yet my skinny jeans fit me nicely, at least according to my transgender boyfriend. ;)

The only thing I can say is you can do what I did.  I first went to the thrift store and tried on different sizes to find out what mens size I fit, then bought a few pairs.  (I also got some shorts in my size as well!)

Next, I went to Walmart and grabbed a couple pairs of jeans in different sizes, and tried them on.  My boyfriend went with me to tell me if they fit properly.  When I found a pair that fit, I bought those as well.  I now know my size, so when, after months of deliberating about it, I finally broke down and ordered a pair of skinny Tripp bondage jeans shipped to me from Hot Topic.  I was afraid I'd have to send them back, but they fit me perfectly!  I used to shop at HT before it was cool.

Also, belts are your friends!  I have a leather belt with a screw in it that I can add my own buckle to.  Right now, I'm rockin' a Pokeball belt buckle, but I also have a Doctor Who one waiting for the new season with the new Doctor waiting in the wings for the new season to start!  8)

Once you get over your fear of "what fits me," I recommend once you find your size, go and get a couple of pairs of jeans in that size, and then hopefully you'll feel comfortable enough to buy jeans online.

And if you find any cool skinny jeans, feel free to message me with links!

the way pants fit me has changed. i used to wear straight, but now i wear slim or ultimate slim. i do work out, but i used to weigh 220, now i weigh about 160. that took about a year to get down to that. however, i got down a lot of my weight before i started even working out. at my job, it was more physically demanding and i walked a lot. my hips definitely slimmed down and same with my thighs. i'd like my thighs to slim down more and get more muscular though. i have a pretty big frame for my size, so i'm kind of built like a fridge so i take about a 34-36 waist, and i get slim because they taper at the bottom and get thinner so i don't have to go around adjusting my pants or rolling them up. my sense of style/confidence might be different then yours though because i pass 100%, so even if i'm wearing a pair of pants that might show off my thick thighs or my bubble butt, i don't think twice about it because i know others don't either.

Yeah it started to shift off the legs and butt early but now I avoid skinny jeans and skinny cut stuff like the plague, just go for the regular men's fit jeans/pants/trousers. I had to slim down a lot though, I've got a 'wide' skeleton, both in the pelvis and in the shoulders especially, getting weight 'down to the bone' down there is a right hassle.

My size seems reliably around a 31 in men's straight leg jeans... but the minute the ankles taper or the jeans are a skinnier cut, I have to go up (as far as a 36 in one brand) because I can't get them over my hips. And then, if they go over my hips, the waist just billows. I'm a pear. I tried two different cuts of jeans in the same brand and I had to get different sizes. @_@ Old Navy is tighter than American Eagle. Etc.

These are a risky bet on a size 31 because they're biker cut.............. I decided it doesn't hurt to try them on, I can always send them back. New story of my life.

At least if I can look forward to becoming more man-shaped, it should make man-pants shopping more reliable in the future.

Ryuichi, if you like Tripp, you should check out Shrine of Hollywood.  >:-)

Belts are fun and I should probably start a new thread for those >.>

One of the worst issues I have is how strong my legs are. I have muscle on them from regular swimming and it almost makes it look like I have the legs of a rugby player. I'd prefer skinnier ones given how the overall effect reminds me of having female 'thigh weight'. It also means choosing pants I end up going for something looser every time to avoid it being too visible.

I've been looking all over for pants to update my wardrobe with, and I've been perusing Goth/Punk sites lately.  The vampire clothes on Shrine of Hollywood are cool, but I'm more the Tripp skinny bondage jeans type of goth.  Zippers, straps and studs are more my thing.

I love that I've lost enough leg fat that I can now look good in skinny bondage pants! <3

I also found your belts thread, and posted on there as well.
