One month post-op.  No visible scars.

I usually style my hair a bit different but this photo shows hair transplant area - front hairline corners are now a smooth arc.  Transplants require several months to re-grow but look fine so far.

The only makeup I am wearing is eyeliner, lipstick and a touch of Garnier Anti-Circle under the eyes (I am 54 after all).   ;)

You are beautiful @Kendra , they did a wonderful job!
I love this pic as your avatar!

You look very pretty, and every time I see your pictures, I can't help but think how much you resemble my grandma when she was younger(I have a picture of her from the early 1930s dressed like a flapper). 😊

I was following your FFS experience even though I didn't comment until seeing this 1 month picture. The results are amazing. You look 100% cis. Very successful surgery. I am very happy for you

Wow, amazing. Would have been cool to show before and after.
Here ya go.  ;)  First photo is in the hospital gown right before getting wheeled into surgery.  Sharp jaw corners, nose proportions and brow bossing under harsh lighting.  The line at the hairline in first photo is not an incision, that's the mark defining where transplants started immediately after surgery.  Incision for skull work was top of head, not at the hairline.

Second photo is standing under a spotlight for similar harsh lighting.

Wow Kendra! What an amazing difference from before and after. It's subtle, you are clearly the same person but the second photo you look so much more feminine. I had trouble identifying what specific work was done, but the overall look has changed significantly. You look beautiful.

I'm back in Marbella.  Had a wonderful dinner yesterday with two Susan's members.  Paula who has completed a very nice update to her hair line and is returning home today.  And Stephanie who I just now watched roll down the same hallway I traveled a half year ago.

While in town I had a checkup at FacialTeam, and some post-op photos taken now that it's been a half year.  The check for coronal incision took an extra minute because they had difficulty finding it.  I've had the same comment from my hairdresser - at four months post-op she was unable to find the cut line even when looking for it and knowing where it had been.  Same with inside mouth, my dentist back home was amazed at how skillfully the cuts were made and put back together.  At this point in time the only remaining recovery I'm aware of is my nose is a bit sensitive to pressure as it continues to heal, and feeling is returning to top of my head.  I am super happy with my hair line from the transplants and this will apparently continue to fill in during the next half year.

I will share pre- and post-op front/side/profile photos once I get those organized, along with a set of VirtualFFS photos from last year.

Dr. Bellinga really knows noses.

Yeah, I had other surgeries this year

I was in my twenties when the first FFS procedure was invented.  For the following three decades before I had heard of FFS my facial features and hair line gradually changed based on hormones I didn't understand.  Relentless erosion dripping in the opposite direction of my brain until I said "enough."  I am forever grateful to those who pioneered this set of breakthroughs from both sides of the operating table, and those who refined it and help us pursue who we are.  In hindsight I would gladly give up many, many things without hesitation to be able to gain what I have in this journey.  Things that really didn't matter, and things that do.

It is so rewarding to see each of us take control of our lives to the degree we can, ranging from the foundation of internal acceptance to the full monty of surgeries in whatever destination is best for each on us.  Identifying and focusing on what matters the most.  Re-setting priorities.  Appreciating who we really are and finding creative ways to climb around stuff that gets in our way.

In the half year since I was here I have been astonished at how different my world is now.  I am living what I wanted.

Thanks for your update Kendra.  You've had a truly amazing journey.
But now old friends they're acting strange
They shake their heads, they say I've changed
Well something's lost, but something's gained
In living every day.

Hi Kendra,

It was very special meeting you and Stephanie on Monday.

Facial Team have done a wonderful job and you look absolutely stunning.

No wonder you had so many admiring glances from guys as we strolled around Old Town Marbella on Monday evening.

Your dress is fabulous.

Have a safe journey home and as we agreed, we must all keep in touch.

Keep having fun.

Hugs

Awwww - thank you!

After seeing Stephanie at the hospital I ran into Dr. Simon!  Well not literally, but he was on his way to surgery and I wanted to personally thank him and let him know I am thrilled with the results of his work.

Dr. Simon fixed my face.  Yay!

While in the neighborhood I figured it would be fun to snapshot a little something I've been carrying around since I was a teenager.  Part of my jaw until six months ago.  Maybe I'll make a necklace.

That was easy!  Well actually I slept while it was removed in May.

An interesting way to lose a small amount of weight

I shoulda waited for Stephanie to be released from the hospital but couldn't resist perfect weather.  Steph was doing really well (and needs to avoid direct sun for awhile) so I drove west for the afternoon.  HC Hospital is a 5 minute walk from a nice sandy beach, but Sonja from FacialTeam mentioned the best sand is an area beyond Gilbraltar.  I went past Tarifa and spent the afternoon in Playa de Bolonia (Bolonia Beach).  Far end of the beach is Dunas de Bolonia with sand dunes, and Baelo Claudia - ruins from a 2,000 year old Roman fishing village.  How cool is that.  The nicest sandy beach I've seen in a long time, definitely on my list if I can visit again.

I was able to visit with Stephanie a bit more before flying back to winter weather.

Lights in distance are in Morocco

Before heading to the airport I was able to catch one more beach.
Found the locals quite friendly.  ;)

I have to say that your self-confidence is remarkable at this point, very admirable!

I'm not sure I'd be up for this, even after the work I'm having done this spring, but, hey!

You go, girl!

I had FFS one year ago today.

In so many ways I now measure time starting from that point.
My world has changed so much for the better.  One of the best decisions I ever made.

Looking amazing Kendra!

I also love how you're doing the holding a laptop that is showing a photo of you holding a laptop with a photo of you....

You should keep on going over the years.

Wow, a year already? You just keep looking better and better!

As you know, I'll be back in Marbella on June 12th and 13th for some more improvements at Ocean Clinic, down the road from FacialTeam. They're likely to be the last things I try. While I was a little disappointed with my results at FacialTeam, I'm trying to manage my expectations a little more realistically this time. I only hope I end up looking a fraction as good as you when I come home from this trip. Congratulations, sister! You're living the life.
