I think the proper wording would be Former church. Deborah is fairly knowledgable about religious matters, at least far more than I am and I suspect she would have quit the church when she discovered the inconsistency in policy.

I was actually one of the leaders in the church, president of the vestry, adult bible study teacher, and before I left a postulant for ordination as a Priest.  Finally I could no longer hold two opposing ideas in my head and continue to maintain my sanity.  So I left that church and eventually left Christianity altogether.   Not too long after that second event I came here.

I have locked this topic. This is a non-partisan site, and this is a partisan and extremely divisive topic. Keep your party politics to political sites don't bring it here. The same goes for conservative vs liberals topics.
