I had my therapy session today and my therapist gave me the letter and a list of doctors I need to start HRT.  I'm debating on whether I should start ASAP or should I wait until I get health insurance again, which won't be until the end of the year.  The smart move would to to wait for the insurance, but on the other hand I'm ready to start transitioning to the real me.  Either way I can't wait to begin!!!

Congratulations, Danielle!

If starting now means that you won't be able to pay the rent or buy groceries, then wait until you have the insurance.  But if you can afford it, I know I wouldn't wait.

Congratulations on getting your letter! It's a great feeling for sure. I remember reading mine over and over again until it finally sunk in that the next step was now within reach.

Dear Danielle:  Wow, this is terrific news, and if I were you I would make a copy of that letter and frame it.  This is the begining of an exciting journey... as you have undoubtedly read in other members threads and postings, the start of HRT is a noteworthy date worth celebrating in the future.
You obviously have to be the judge of whether you wait for insurance or not... perhaps based on what the cost will be of the HRT and what your insurance will cover.

Again, this is  terrific news.
Feel free to keep us all updated with your progress in future postings, but only if you feel comfortable doing so.
In good times we will rejoice with you, and in the not so good  times we will support you with our words and our thoughts.

Hugs and well wishes,
Danielle

Thank you so much Danielle!  I'm excited and looking forward to it. It's kind of scary as my transitioning is getting real, but I'm also looking forward to it.  I've wanted this my whole life even though I didn't always acknowledge it.

Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

Hello again Danielle Kristina

Well done - I'm so happy for you. Two significant dates to remember - authorization letter and start of HRT.

Obviously I am not from US but if you are of two minds between now and the end of 2018 to start, you may wish to take Laura's advice and use that system for a few months before your Insurance starts and applies.

Decision is yours but I wish you every success.

Hugs

Pamela
